If Mac took Mahomes at 6 this board would have exploded calling him a reaching cunt.

If dudes think Petty was ruined, then I can see now how they can defend Mac. The bar is not high.

You're the one who brought up the NFL.com rating! I was just responding to that.

    Good night.

It's amazing how people who grade drafts don't use a curve as if the draft wasn't a competition. The grades in this case aren't about answering questions correctly where all 32 teams can get an A. It's a competition against each other. If one team had the worst draft they aren't a B- they're an E or an F. You can't have 28 A's either. It's like an exam where every GM has been spotted a 75 and a C and if you wrote the name correctly on the draft card you move up to a B.

They did the best they could; he was years away from being a serviceable NFL QB if he even ever gets there.

I never said it was Bowles fault that the roster isn't good enough this year though?

I will continue to have low expectations until we start winning or at least competing, this is the life you expect when you support a shit team, it took nearly 37 years for me to see Man City win something and now it is paying off, perseverance is key and longevity obviously lol

Was only asking as there were numerous post saying Paridis was the reason for the conflict between Gase and Mac but Bell was never mentioned.
I had stated in the sign Bell thread that Bell was not a Gase type player and didn't think the Jets would sign him.
I have to believe Chris Johnson was in agreement with Mac on signing Bell.

@101GangGreen101 implied that Bowles set us back a year. We were supposed to make the playoffs this year but now we probably will not somehow because of Bowles. I’m still trying to have him explain this logic. If it came across as me assigning this take to you, I apologize; it was not my intention

    Did he? o_O

Man, you don't like to do context, do you?

I even put in the original post that he wasn't in Mahomes class, you know to negate this kind of chat coming back, the simple fact is Petty was not helped by our coach and his staff and if you think they would have managed Mahomes to perfection then I can't help you with that.

They were fucking useless, Bates as a QB whisperer and then OC calling little dinks and shit for Mahomes, ignoring the lads strong arm, you know it would have been like that, safety first, don't let him take a risk, he might throw an interception, keep it short and safe.

All that would have been squashed by training camp. @ColoradoContrails & I and several others would be here keeping the peace until then

    No probs.

Why were we meant to make the playoffs this year?

A second season rookie, a one who wasn't quite ready last season, Sam needs a big step up to take us to the playoffs, of course he also needs a centre and a solid left tackle to help that happen and not an overly stellar cast of WR's either tbh, I like Robby a lot but he is not a number 1

I fully understand context. You think Petty had a chance at being something but was ruined by this CS. I think he was trash and beyond help. That has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to being in the same class with Mahomes which goes without saying. You question my understanding of context making a nonsensical statements like “...if you think they would have Mahomes to perfection then I can't help you with that.”

The great Mahomes sat home and watched the Patriots win a championship as well cause he couldn’t beat them on the big stage with twice the talent around him.

I loved Mahomes pre draft as well as did many others. You weren’t the only one that liked Mahomes pre draft. I think Darnold was a better prospect though and am happy with the way it worked out.

You assume that win now was the marching order. You don’t know that for sure, and just because you believe to be the case does change the fact that the guys been the GM for 4 seasons with no playoffs.

Poor mid round drafting. Poor FA periods. Darnold fell to him and he’s just now spending all the saved money after purging the roster 3 years into his tenure. If he did that year 1 the Jets would probably be in better shape, but then again with Macs drafting who knows.

Im not sure why you or anyone for that matter is defending the guy so vehemently. 4 years, no playoffs, and we may be looking at a 5th year with no playoffs. The Jets are approaching their worst playoff drought in team history and Macs been here for half of it. Spin it any way you want. The guy has yet to prove he’s a quality GM.

I’m the one who sounds ridiculous? Yet you’re the one acting like you’re the only one who knew about Mahomes and is still crying about it 2 years later.
