Oh, I’m not saying he’s done nothing. And thank god all fans don’t agree on everything. Believe it or not the board would be way worse if we did.

But yea, in my opinion he waited to long. He tried to make a run year 1 and it failed, setting the rebuild back. That’s why we’re here now instead of competing last season or the one before that.

What’s done is done. If he can pull a playoff year out of his ass now more power to him. If not, he needs to be shown the door.

@rohirrim665 said above, at least when it comes to the draft it seems that Macc's ceiling is being mediocre, which means overall he's below average. He gets credit for moving up for Darnold, but otherwise he seems to combine being overly conservative at the top (always going BPA) and too outside-the-box after the first round (too many awful second and third round picks to count). I'm disappointed by the Q. Williams pick (but at least can hope he really is as good as advertised), but I am very worried that based on history today and tomorrow will actually be worse.[/QUOTE]

He doesn’t get credit for moving up for Darnold because it was a blind trade up. He could have ended up with any of 3 players

Why is this fucking clown doing the presser alone? Can’t remember the last time where both the GM & HC were not doing the 1st round press conference together

    Jesus, that was bad lol

I don't know what was worse, Mac apparently not knowing his mother is no longer with us, or the reporter shouting back "she's dead" from the audience LMAO

You can dislike Mac for whatever reason you choose, but he is no where near the same level as Idzik was lol

I’m referring to the atmosphere that is surrounding the administration. I guess all organizations have drama, it just seems to be the norm with Jets.

It's the norm because you are so heavily invested in your franchise.

Trust me, this shit is everywhere. It may feel like the roof is caving in, but remember there is always an Arizona or Giants fan somewhere crying himself/herself to sleep at night.

Hell, not only did the Giants have the worst fuckin offseason and draft since the creation of football, but today one of their draft picks is currently recovering from a gunshot wound LOL!!

If BPA says Jamal Adams a safety is better than Mahomes a QB when you actually need a QB, then FUCK BPA!

Paradis definitely said that he felt disrespected. He said that he expected to be paid commensurate with his level of play and production. That can only be (being disrespected) because teams were either low-balling him or didn't make him offers at all. Paradis' agent said that Mac had called initially to express interest, but never called back with an offer.

Who the hell is Glenn Naughton and why should he be believed? I remember reading that Mac never made Paradis an offer, and the tweet or article from Mehta posted above confirms that, if accurate. Paradis could be saying things like that after the fact because he felt insulted and disrespected by Mac since Mac never made an offer.

It could also be true that he didn't want to play here, and in the quote above his talking about how well Carolina treats their players and how respected their franchise is could be a way of taking a shot at the Jets and saying he didn't want to play here because they aren't respected and because they've hired so many clueless twits like Bowles, Rex, Tanny, Bradway, Herm and Mac over the years.

As far as Gase and supposedly hiring his yes man as GM, I agree. Mac has proven that he isn't up to the job. Why not give Gase a shot? If he doesn't do any better or does worse, he'll be cutting his own throat, and won't be here long. At this point, I have a lot more trust in and respect for Gase than I do Mac or the Johnsons. Heck, I trust the custodian an One Jet Way more than I do Mac and the Johnsons.

Spot on. In addition, scout contracts run until after the draft. That is another reason to hire a GM at this time. He can hire new scouts, rather than being stuck with the previous regime's scouts for an entire year. Of course, firing now isn't perfect because that means you let the boob you want to fire mess up one more year's draft class and FA period. That's why making the right hire in the first place is so crucial.

Sorry, but that's just not accurate. There are talented offensive players in the draft every year that are worthy of drafting. It's just that for some weird reason, the offense isn't a priority for Mac. Because he favors defense, his ranking system is skewed, and that results in defensive players being the BPA. Other NFL teams have drafted those offensive players and benefited greatly from them and their play.

I agree, but imo that just points out that there is no good time to have to fire a GM. It's gonna hurt and hamper your team one way or another if you make a bad hire at GM. That's why owners should be very careful, thoroughly vet the prospective GM candidates, and not just settle for someone. They need to be very tough and demanding and ensure that they hire the right guy.

FAs in general are overpriced if they're any good. Morse hasn't given up a sack in 4 years! IMO he deserves every penny he got from the Bills. It's going to be an interesting battle between Q. Williams and Morse when we play the Bills.

I never saw anything on this site or elsewhere where Paradis said anything about his family and living somewhere peaceful, and I read all the linked articles off the main page every day.

    THIS ^ times 1000%!

    Here's a bonus question:

When was the last time that an OFFENSIVE player was rated "BPA"?

It's already been explained here. Smart GMs (i.e. not Mac) know that offense is more important than defense. So they'll take an offensive guy with a slightly lower grade for his position. Which means the players with the highest grades at their positions who are still on the board are most likely defensive players. Especially interior defensive linemen.

If this is a serious answer and not sarcasm, I'll plead stupid. What you're saying is that although offensive talent is more important, all GMs set that aside and rate defensive talent with a higher grade?o_O

Not sure what this GM hate is for because we're now coming off of one of the greatest offseasons we've ever witnissed as a Franchise.

    Saquon Barkley.

Two of the three had an offensive player at #2, also. These guys had Barkley second, but had four offensive players as the top four:

These guys had Barkley second, behind our own Sam Darnold:
