That was my first thought. Keep the seat warm for Prime, Schotty.

The name Schottenheimer is royalty in NFL circles I have to believe. His Dad was a great head coach just couldn't get to and win the big one. That 2006 Chargers team is one of the best teams to not get to and win the Super Bowl.

It was a heartbeaker how they lost that playoff game to the hated Patriots.

I remember fans hating on Schott when he was the OC here.

Looking back some of the stuff he was doing back then it's just where the game was headed.

His Dad was a great head coach I'm thinking Jerry Jones is hoping some of that rubbed off on the son.

Could be true, because I could never understand how people thought he’d go to the cowboys this offseason when there’s strong mutual interest between his son and the giants, and it’s a high probability he ends up there. Knowing how much he loves his kids (he only got into coaching to help them succeed in the first place) I don’t think in a million years Deion would sign up for a job to a division rival from his son and basically get paid to ensure his son fails every year. Waiting until next year he could either (1) take the cowboys job if shedeur ends up somewhere else, or (2) take the giants job when daboll is inevitably fired and coach his son if he ends up there.
