The Conservative outlets are again attacking the Pope and saying he shouldn't be critical of capitalism, wealth inequality or be talking to the world about injustice and poverty. I guess they expect him to be a figurehead and basically to go along with the status quo. Actually it's his job to tell the world when things are bad. To me that's what the church is supposed to be about.

I call b.s. on this. I've watched the coverage, flipping from one network to another and the media coverage has been very positive and has not been politicizing the Pontiff's visit. No, you're the only one who's used the Pope's visit to create this false premise so as to engage in your "Johnny one note" partisan whining.

    Fake finger-pointing and using a joyous pope-meets-people event to do so…..dbag award-worthy.

Its probably from a video floating around facebook and/or youtube with a bunch of media peeps calling the pope anti capitalist as if he should be pro capitalist. I'll see if I can find it at lunch time. Not sure if they're just more fringe personalities or what.

First who has a right more than the Pope to criticize greed and poverty and of course that sacred cow climate change. Some of the GOP and of course Fox News basically said he should mind his own business. Well, assholes the world is his business. Plus on Fox News and Fox News Business all day they seem to take it on themselves to defend capitalism. The Pope was criticizing the excesses of capitalism, poverty all around the world and extreme greed and income inequality.

You've hijacked more threads than anyone on this site. This is a religion thread and the Pope is about religion you putz. I guess to right wingers it's called hijacking when you dispute their narrow minded view of the world. And anything ultra Conservative no matter how one sided when posted is ok.

You're again hijacking a thread with your typical personal attack on another poster. No comment or discussion on what I had to say just another stupid negative comment that has nothing to do with the discussion. If you disagree state your piece. If not just shut up and go away.

Eat it jerkoff. You're not worth it. Discussing something intelligently with you is like arguing with a rock.

    A really stupid rock.

No pslfan, it wasn't so much about the Pontiff rightfully sticking up for "the masses" it was you choosing to use it to spin it off into the political realm with another one of your same old/same old whinefests.

I see and hear the Pontiff's message.

You see political opportunism. Johnny-one-note: one salty little dog.

This is called obstructionism. If you hate a POV you create a distraction. In his case as always name calling.

There are so many links. I didn't make anything up about the GOP and Conservative medias rip job on the Pope. Basically saying he should mind his own business when he criticizes the ills of our society. That is exactly what his job is supposed to be. Here are just a few: http://mediamatters.org/research/2013/12/05/conservatives-attack-the-pope/197170

There's millions of them. Your party as usual is a complete joke.
