"The first ever game between the Yankees and Red Sox at Yankee Stadium was won by the Yankees, and so was the last. In 1923, it was a three-run homer by Babe Ruth, the Bambino, that was the difference in a 4-1 game. In 2008, it was the Giambino that closed the final chapter."

So I guess that means he was also responsible for getting the Yankees into the playoffs 12 straight years. Since the Yankees won't make it this year, its very easy to make that correlation.
No, he wasn't responsible at all. How do you read that into it? It says exactly the opposite in fact. The Yankees got to the playoffs in spite of him not because of him.
Pavano pitched really well last night, it's good to see but it's painful wishing we could have seen alot more of that the past 4 years.
Yeah, I predicted he will pitch a perfect game or no hitter before he leaves. Then he will sign with Boston and win 20 games a year for the next 5 years. Don't forget he grew up a Boston fan.
I think he grew up a Yankee fan(his family was at least), he was in the Boston system as a youngster but I THINK he was a Yankee fan.
