I know this year is bad for Yankee fans... But dont you know that the Rays fans would DIE to have a seasons like 96? Or any of the other yeard you all won it?

You all are still above .500

Think about Rays fans like myslef who are Jets, Knicks and Rays fans...

Think about 10 seasons of 100 loses as a Rays fan, well actually 9... Think of finishing last place for 9 out of 10 years! Dead last!

You cant complain my friend, you really cant... Ur a freakin Yankee fan

Don't worry man, the Yankees appear to be in the shitter right now, but this is just a needed transition year made necessary by some awful signings (and non-signings) in the past. Think of this as the Yankees version of the '06 Red Sox.

The Yankees are about to move into a new stadium that makes their old look like Tropicana Field. They stand to loose a lot of dead salary in Giambi and Pavano, and I could easily see them having a monster off-season by signing Teixeira, Sabathia, and Adam Dunn, or at least one from that group.

Couple all that with what is by most accounts one of the deepest farm systems in baseball, and it becomes clear that the Yankees aren't going anywhere long term.

I'm a Sox fan. I love this short-term, but long term I'm scarred shitless by the thought of Cashman running that team again with the new stadium coming up.

It's the Mets fans who should want to kill themselves.

i would listen to what you have to say if you didnt only post in the baseball forum after the rays sweep someone. like i said, i might change my opinion if you continue to post after the rays fall out of contention.

Well, after all the steroids he probably IS half a man...

Seriously though, he looks stupid. He'd look stupid if he played for the Sox. He'd look stupid if he worked at the local grocery store. Mustache = either gay or pedophile. Nothing else. And that has nothing to do with baseball, just my general disdain for mustachioed men.

Only the Yankees can get shut out the day after scoring 18 goddamn runs. WTF.

I hope Matsui comes back soon. We could use him right now.

The problem is we have been spoiled for too long that Yankee fans cannot take 1 bad year. I'd rather miss the playoffs this year than go down in the ALDS like we would b/c we cannot hit when it matters. This offense needs to be re-tooled, they are doing a great job w/ the rotation now the attention needs to be turned to the position players.

Thank you. At least someone around here still speaks common sense.

Anyway, last night was a total shitshow. Girardi flipped out after the game. About time Joe...

All that said, this is a transition year, but the play is absolutely inexcusable. Not to take anything away from Lester, who was brilliant, but this lineup just simply shit the bed last night. When the only guys who actually get hits are Melky Cabrera and Robinson Cano, you have a significant problem.

Let's see how they come back from this against Beckett.

    Holy shit, STFU already.

You're the only Rays fan on the damn board. This is a New York team's message board.

You want to talk about the shitty Rays, go back to your Rays board.

I understand that there will be better days ahead for the yanks, but this idea that this is a "transition year" is a complete cop out. Come on guys. A transition year is when you promote a bunch of young kids and let them grow knowing you re not making the playoffs. While we have infused some young arms there is no way in hell the yankees thought theyd be 8 games out of first place with damon and jeter and arod and abreu and cano etc.......
