Yes, who fives the shit about the most explosive athlete of our generation, able to score at any time, able to take over a game with any carry, able to get 500 yards in ONE GAME. First downs? This guy will be looking at TD on every play. The most amazing athlete I've seen since Bo Jackson.

Look....I would love to see Reggie Bush in green, but this team cannot afford to move up. If by some miracle Bush is arrested or something else happens and he falls to us, great, take him, but we cannot move up.

If we traded up to #1 it would/better be for Leinart.

While that's a good comparison I'm sure, you couldn't have been more than five or six when Jackson retired from football.

Why the hell would you trade up?

We need a starting QB, a backup QB, a starting RB, a WR, a starting RT, a backup OT, a starting OG, probably a starting C, a backup C/OG, a starting NT, a backup OLB, and a backup CB. And you want to take away chances to fill those needs with young players by taking a chance with either a QB who would get killed behind no OL, or a thin RB who would get killed with no OL? While we don't need D'Brickashaw, we do need to draft at least 3 linemen in this draft.

I think Bush is a once in a lifetime player, and someone you begin you're rebuilding process around....thats why.

But by trading for Bush, you're slowing down the rebuilding process a couple years, since you can't possibly fill all your other needs...

The Texans tanked their season so that they could get Bush. What makes you think they'll trade down? Unless the Jets offer is ridiculously one-sided (in favor of Houston, of course), there's no way the Texans will trade down.

...And like Jetfanmack said, if the Jets do offer some over-the-top deal, the rebuilding process will be stunted just for one player. You may think Bush is a once in a lifetime player, but so what? I'd rather have a better overall team, than just one spectacular player. Barry Sanders was one of those players and look how many SB victories the Lions have. The best move, if anything, is to trade down...not up.

Sometimes I wonder if Jet fans actually want to win, or just want to see atleast two exciting players all year. Granted we rarely see them, but still. If Reggie Bush falls, then by all means take him. But in our current state and with the mind of our coaching staff we're going to be a heavy running team. Not suited for a finess runner like Reggie Bush and certainly not trading up for him.

Trading up would be stupid, but if we did, bush is the only guy that makes sense to trade up for.

IF the Jets weren't in such bad cap shape that they had to gut the entire offense and deal 2 of their 3 best players on D, I'd agree with you here. Unfortunately the holes on this team are so great, I just don't know if this is a move you can afford to make.
