No one is putting Ken in the hall of fame but do yourself a favor and watch the shootout against Miami.

When he had healthy, talented players around him he out-dueled Dan Marino.

Marino had a quicker release, more consistency, and a better career but on that day Ken O'Brien was the better man.

awesome, he had some great games but what does this mean? we only focus on shootout against bad Miami team and not the rest of his career?

that day Ken was better and on other days he was better than Dan too. Miami brought out the best in Ken, if he played against others like he did against Miami he'd be a HOFer but he didn't.

How about the 62 points he put up on Tampa Bay?

Again, not saying he was HOF material but if the guy had more talent around him (including players lost to injuries) he would have won some playoff games.

he had some excellent games, he wasn't consistent. He was really good in 1985 and even better to start 1986 but from Nov on he was a mediocre/below average QB in this league.

if he had more talent? Freeman, Hector, Toon, Walker, Shuler, Moore- how much more talent do you want? he always had good talent to throw and hand off to.

Pat Ryan won a playoff game w/ a team Ken led to 5 straight losses and we would have beaten Cleveland a week later if Ryan didn't get hurt.

team was healthy at home in '85 WC game where he led his O to 14 pts in a loss(7 in garbage time).

An offensive line and a healthy Wesley Walker could have made all the difference.

had a good OL, took too many sacks b/c he held the ball forever looking for the big play.

Realised today when I was reading some mocks how many holes some really good teams have, none more than the team picking 29th the Colts. Ignoring the QB, player for player I would not swap anyone for our starters asides from Davis, Mewhort and Allen (maybe McAfee, but really Quigley isn't losing us games). Yet this team has been in the playoffs the past 3 years.

It makes you wonder, if we can bring in a sem-competent QB where would we be.

Cherilus, and Fleener are much better than Breno and Cumberland.

Not sure how good Thornton is but Colon is no prize.
