Lamar Jackson is an unrestricted free agent. Do whatever you have to do to get him. He's a franchise quarterback in his prime. We have not had that in forever.
It's going to be funny when Aaron Rodgers comes in and takes Zach's job next year. I wonder if he'd still be Zach's idol.
I don’t know if we’ll be able to fit Rodgers’ salary on this team. We would have to let a few guys go.
If Minshew were our starter right now right now, we'd be 8-2. He's never going to be the guy that puts the team on his shoulders, but he effectively executes the offense, and that's what the Jets need. This team is playoff caliber, and they know it, that's why JD keeps bringing in talent instead of just riding with what we have. They need to grow some balls and make a change at QB.
Sadly, I think we're going to be stuck with Wilson for another year. GMs and coaches lose their jobs when the miss on 1st round QB prospects. They're not going to outright admit that they botched that picks he'll be back under center making the same bewildering throws again next season.
Another year of Zach and his poor play would be career suicide for the GM and Coach I doubt that's the play here given the elite talent...we NOW have especially at WR and Defense That's 7 more games for Mr. Wilson unless there's some astronomical improvement
Outside of getting franchised he’ll go to where he can make the most money; whether that’s Baltimore remains to be seen.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but Douglas and Saleh have put together a good enough team that if the team keeps playing this well, they deserve another shot at a QB. But sticking with Zach next year will guarantee they get fired at the end of it.
I agree we'd be 8-2 with Minshew, but we don't know that he can't become great. The biggest knock on him is that he has a weak arm, but people were saying the same thing about Tua, and look at Tua now that he's in a good situation. And Minshew's numbers were better than Tua's before this year.
