CONVENIENT ON TOPIC ARTICLE! http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/20...h_jets_about_possible_contract_extension.html I didn't know he lead the team in tackles for most of time here, maybe he's more valuable than we're giving him credit for... younger and quicker sounds good and all but its not like he's ever gotten hurt. he hasn't even missed a game since he's been here! need more info on him, I never pay much mind to the LB's so I'm a little ignorant here, maybe its about time I did.
"And he's coming off a year in which Pro Football Focus graded his coverage snaps per reception—the number of times he was the primary man in coverage for every reception he allowed—the seventh-best in the NFL." huh.
Seems like every time we do that (released hoping for a comp/resign @ a bargain) that player ends up signing with the Hate-triots!
He's a solid player; but his forty time can already be timed with a sun dial. I'd go year-to-year from now on. If a team offers him a multi year deal, aloha David.
That's just not true. That's what a lot of fans always worry about every time we release a player but it's not what always happens. Who was the last player the Patriots did that with, Shaun Ellis? Last year we let these players go Yeremiah Bell LaRon Landry Mike DeVito Shonn Greene Dustin Keller Matt Slauson Guess how many were signed by the patriots? Stop propagating this bs.
We didn't need to save cap space to re-sign Harris. He's not working off of a rookie contract so a new contract would not eat up extra space. With that said, he was a little overpaid on the existing contract.
#1 against the run or in the top 5 how many times with Harris? The Jets D has been elite for years, and that's partly due to Harris creating havoc. He can still play.
If Davis steps up, David Harris becomes less of a priority. However, Davis hasn't achieved this yet so to let Harris walk next off-season is a bad decision Looks like we're picking linebacker with our first round pick next season
go gets 100 tackles every year… i guess that doesn't mean anything anymore… we had two ILB's that had over a 100… harris in my eyes had two all pro season.. his rookie in 07 and 09…he was incredible those years
Lol I know you're being facetious but I'd love for you to post a picture of yourself to make this post even funnier.
David Harris clocked a 4.59 at the combine. Jeremiah George clocked a 4.91. Harris may be slow now but whoever has the notion that the Jets are all about speed now would prove to be wrong with the George pick.
Don't forget we now have Ikemefuna Chinedum Enemkpali. Just his name is enough to strike fear into opposing teams.
