He injured his leg near the end of the game but kept playing. Part of why I thought maybe Zach opted for the sneak.
quad contusion on the play right before 4th and 2. it's part of the reason we took a timeout. they only gave us a 30 second one and here was the situation rookie HC, rookie OC, rookie QB. had to figure out how close the ball was (1 yard, 1.5, 2 yards etc) to figure out of we were going for it and what the play was the play called was to someone they didn't know if he was hurt or not all this was in a 30 second span. it's a tough situation not only that but the 30 second timeout rules sucks. had we had the full 2 mins zach coulda went to the sideline and discussed it with saleh prior but we were only granted 30 seconds
Every time out is 'technically' 30 seconds. Typical "shit the bed" moment that took attention away from 58 minutes of good offensive play. Fucking Jets.
Yeah it’s not really a tough situation. If you decide to go for it you whip out your best 2 point conversion play and tell your QB to run it since the distance is the same. Hopefully the kids on the staff learn from it.
Interesting info. Even if injured I’m sure a baller would say “I’m good”. But now I see zack’s apprehension to give the ball to Berrios.
they are 2 mins until the commercial breaks are fulfilled or if it's 2 on the same dead ball. but i get what your saying. the only reason timeouts are longer is becuase commercial breaks are neeeded for sponsers
Yeah... once the commercial slots are fulfilled the team(s) don't get the extra time. Plus we called the time out right before the 2:00 min. warning... it was gonna be "short" anyway. I wonder if LeFloor was on the sidelines...would he have told Zach NOT to go for the sneak...
There's a lot of players who have "so much upside" who wash out or never reach their potential. Then there are guys like Berrios who leverages his potential to become much better than anyone would predict. Crowder is more towards the Berrios end of the scale. Like I said, IDK why Davis struggled this year, but in my un-expert, non-firsthand opinion I don't think he put out the max effort. All things considered, I'd prefer to have Crowder and Berrios than Davis and Berrios based on what I've seen. If Crowder leaves - and I won't be surprised if he does, good for him. I'm not saying that JD should mortgage the farm to keep him at all. Just that if they could get rid of Davis, and keep Crowder, that would be better IMO.
