Say what you will, but this is low-risk, high reward. Brown is a powerful back who would be an upgrade over Houston. He's 26 and none of his injuries have been catastrophic in nature. It's not as if he's going to command a monster signing bonus. I'm taking a wait and see approach on this, but I don't think it's a bad idea. When you're as thin as the Jets are at the spot, you can't just go into the draft hoping you get the guy you want. I'm not going to go into the wailing and gnashing of teeth if it happens. Frankly, Brown makes much more sense than any of the other available turds. -X-
Finally someone that knows the situation. Sure Brown was injured a couple times, but it happens. He is still fairly young, and he is the exact runner that the Jets need. Only reason he did not get back on the field last season is because of Jeff Fisher. He is known to keep some of his top talent side lined for whatever reason. You dont rub Fisher the wrong way, or you pay. Just ask, Volek..
If he comes in and replaces houston then yes. I dont mind giving the guy a chance in a 3 man rbbc with leon and a rookie
Brown has talent, thats obvious. Still, he's a tall RB who runs high and really leaves himself open to big hits. What I don't get is how he's a better choice, or even as talented as Turner though. But then again, the only good young players who aren't first day picks or starters, so Turner loses though. Plus he can't beat out LT to start for the Chargers, so he hasn't proved himself. He's obviously got talent, but he's only a backup and backups suck.
