Meh, Michael Vick got another shot. If the wife continues to plead his case and he stays out in front of the issue, he'll get a shot. But yeah, probably in the offseason. It'd be too much noise whilst heading towards a playoff run. _
I think it would make more noise in the offseason. If someone signed him now it would make a little noise and then immediately get lost in the pile of football stories/ playoff talk, etc. If someone signed him in the offseason when ESPN is desperate for clicks it would be the top story for a month
ESPN is such a joke. I used to respect Schefter but now he has to chime in on every story whether he has inside scoop or not. I think he benefitted from NFL Network's founding and those in the circle giving him the scoop first to benefit the NFL Network. Now that he's with ESPN he has to do real reporting/digging and we've seen way too much of this from him: Look at the teams with a position of need and a player in that position is available? Name a team or two with "sources" but then add the disclaimer that that is not real. Basically just nicely wrapped speculation. It's bogus. He's a fraud
Yup. I could have reported that. And if Indy or NO does sign him, ESPN can just report that they "reconsidered" their earlier decision not to pursue him. _
As fuked up as what Vick has done, it never reached the level of anti-PC that is going on now. So called women's groups coupled with the media backlash would doom the franchise that dares; for years they would be associated with it. How often do you see people walking around with Redskins apparel? Same type of result will occur with a Rice signing. It would be a horrific business decision. The good thing about this discussion is we will see. I know I'm taking a risk coming out so sure since anything can happen.
Nothing to do with Ray Rice going forward per se if you will, but it's interesting that the Ravens have put together a very good season. Not even implying it's BECAUSE Rice was cut by them, but more in terms of predictions it would hurt them very much to have to on without them. Ravens are in fact coming together in the right way at the right time. Could be a huge factor in the playoffs.
Rice settles with Ravens He was looking for 3.5mm. Probably got close to 3 mill. And that's that. Ray Rice, Ravens reach settlement Updated: January 15, 2015, 1:20 PM ET The Baltimore Ravens and running back Ray Rice reached a settlement before his grievance hearing began Thursday, according to media reports. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/1...re-ravens-reach-settlement-regarding-back-pay
