You saying to someone that you want to kiss them is not sexual harrassment if you touch them that is.
http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/jets/2009/02/ray-lewis-calls-jets-scenario.html A week ago at the Super Bowl in Tampa, Ray Lewis refused to discuss his impending free agency as he made the rounds on "radio row" in the media center. On Wednesday night at the Pro Bowl, he was a chatterbox in an interview with Jamie Dukes of the NFL Network. Maybe the warm Hawaiian breezes loosened him up. (Or a Mai Tai or two.) Or maybe his agent told him to start playing the posturing game. Anyway, the Ravens' linebacker had nice some things to say about the Jets, who - in case you've been sleeping for a month - are coached by Lewis' former defensive coordinator, Rex Ryan. Lewis spoke highly of Ryan, and when asked about the prospect of a reunion in New York, Lewis said, "That opportunity by itself seems attractive. It sounds right. It's like, wow, if something does happen where I'm not back in Baltimore, hmm, the Jets wouldn't be bad." Discussing the possibility of playing in the No. 1 media market, Lewis said that would be a positive, not a negative. Referring to New York, Lewis said "it's a young Jets team that has a lot of talent across the board where if you (add) 52 in that equation, that team goes from being okay to 'Let's go win this.' That scenario by itself is always attractive." Chew on that, Jets fans.
With Pace, Lewis, Harris, Gholston, Jenkins, Ellis, Revis, & Rhodes shit I could play Corner or Saftey with that group in front of me.
and just imagine if the Jets draft an immediate starter opposite Revis? that D should be able to wreak havoc.
I'd like to see Ryan get something out of Gholston before I start thinking he's going to wreak any havoc.
2 of my favorite players in the NFL are Ray Lewis and Ed Reed (The U). I love the interview a few yrs back when Ed Reed was asked about the defensive practices. Ed was talking about the goal line defense practice and how the offense can never score during practice. He gave credit for that to the fact that no one on the defense wanted to explain to Ray why they let that guy score! In practice!! Ed was representing the secondary guys saying that they all had to get in their and hit, cause it was easier to hit a running back, than to have Ray hit you because the back scored.... I want that on my defense.
How 'bout I don't want him just because I hate him? Watching him do that moronic 'dance' after he tackles someone on a five yard gain, thanks, but no. I agree that the media tip-toes the murder thing, just like they tip-toe Cheatie Gate. Although Lewis wasn't convicted of anything, he never showed the slightest bit of remorse. I'll put that towards attorney's advice on a good day, but it was actually far more his defiant attitude than anything else, mouthing off as if HE had been wronged. Hey, f*ck that guy. I wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire.
If he truly was innocent why should he show remorse and why wouldn't he be pissed about having his name thrown around in the dirt. I'd be pissed too. Hell, people would probably still be assuming he was guilty years later just for being mentioned in the case. Oh wait a minute ...
A simple 'I feel bad people got killed even though I had nothing to do with it' never hurt anyone. The guy was acquitted. I get it. His attitude still sucked balls. And I still hate him.
Seriously, it would be Pace-Lewis-Harris-whoever wins the starting spot, because at this point I wouldn't want Gholston pouring Gatorade.
Eh, I don't know. There's no denying the intangibles Lewis would bring to the team on/off the field, which is something we're in desperate need of. However, maybe Ryan and Pettine will spark our guys, so Lewis becomes less necessary. For the longterm, I'd rather go with someone like Scott because then you're not looking to fill another hole in a year or two, and therefore, can focus on other positions, depth, etc. I just think if you're serious about contending perennially, the best way to do that is to get guys who are going to be here for years, instilling some continuity in the D and not having to wonder who'll be playing ILB after next year.
this has been said before... but I am still awed by the irony in the fact that a lot of guys on here last spring were saying that if we did not draft gholston, the Pats would take him after us and he would wreak havoc for yrs... instead, we take him, and he is set to wreak havoc for yrs...... on our salary cap!! meanwhile, the Pats take some other guy who turns out to be the ROY!! :shit:
For all the Favre-haters who think they know football better than Ray Ray: Lewis said he believes that if Brett Favre is the quarterback for the Jets, they would have a better chance of bringing in the linebacker. And at the very least, that situation has to be resolved. Favre's agent said today the 39-year-old quarterback has no timetable for a decision. "That scenario you almost have to see where it goes to see what they're doing as an organization," Lewis said. "Then that's when you can jump in and pick up where they're going to leave off. If they're saying we are going to after Brett, then that's when I am going to make a phone call."
I must be reading this wrong...did you just say ray lewis has lost a step? my god stay off whatever your smoking...seriously! ray lewis changes D's around. His leadership makes every player around him 100 times better. He is still a nasty hitter and a very good coverage LB. He will make David Harris and Eric Barton into semi elite or even elite LB's with the motivation he brings. This guy has and will never lose his step until he retires from the game....PERIOD.
Absolutely. He was found not guilty anyway. He has been one of the leaders and the captain of a dominant defense for years...
OJ would still be free to do whatever he wanted but he got greedy and stupid and will be in jail a very long time because of it. So don't think that OJ really "suffered" much 'cause he didn't. As far as Ray goes, he was acquitted and, because of that ruling, the NFL said "Okay. He's innocent. Let's move on." And they did(but some people never will, I guess). If you have a shot to get Ray Lewis, YOU GET HIM! Will I feel dirty for wanting to get him? Probably. But he can bring so many more PROs than CONs here, it ain't even funny. :metal:
