You could not possibly be any more wrong. First round picks are hard to come by so usually you do not take players with injuries in round one. However, injuries are how you get starters and even pro bowlers later in the draft. If Peake had been healthy his entire college career he would have gone in the first round or come out a year earlier.
I got the point especially after MoMoron repeated himself five times. I don't like his injury history bottom line but still think he has potential if he can stay healthy.
If, If, if. That's a lot of hypotheticals there. You have no idea IF he would have gone in the 1st round if he was healthy. That's pure speculation on your part. I think he has upside and big deal if I said a reach and he wasn't. IF he stays healthy then he's got potential.
Fair enough, and you may very well be right, but I'm just not sure where the "high risk" label comes from. I personally am always very skeptical of players with considerable injury histories, which is why I was very comfortable with us passing on Jack.
I liked the draft , if springs was there at the 2nd round i would have been disapointed after he is gone not so much we took a chance on a QB , loved the 3rd round pick . Hope Shell works out he is physical and rough . What i dont get is how you guys claim darron lee was a reach when he was projected from 10 to 17 range and teams ahead of us take guys like Neal and karl joseph.
Trying to draw a comparison between the two is desperate. Milliner had injury problems at Alabama. He had totally different injuries than Smith. It's also been one year
Remember when you told me to not get my panties in a bunch over a 7th rounder? You have to be pretty bunched up to start name calling like a 12 year old.
Says the guy who feels compelled to get the last word in. Truth hurts buddy. Let me know when you want to talk football and not the definition of a 7th round reach which is beyond boring. Moving on...
I can't attempt to talk football with someone that doesn't understand common sense and logic. How many people have told you what you said is absurd now? The truth indeed hurts. You also just said "7th round reach" which means you think it's still a real thing. How could I attempt to talk football with someone that operates that way?
The percentage of players who remain on a team for 5+ years from rounds 4-7 is extremely low. You're lucky if one guy from those rounds sticks on a team that long. I always find it ridiculous when people complain about wasted picks in the later rounds. If you find a long term contributor in a later round, then you've struck gold.
Lol you're still harping on this crap? Ok he's not a reach based on his 7th round status. Happy now? It doesn't change how I feel about the pick and the fact that I thought they could've went in a different direction. You've beaten this to a slow, dull death.
I think this is what literally every draft should be graded as one day after the draft. No one knows what they have, no one. At any point over the next two years you can come back and "grade" this draft and the grade will change.
Traded away what future? He had two 4th round picks, he used one to get a 5th round pick this year and he still has one 4th rounder left next year. Is Westerman a lock to start as a 5th round pick? I dont know enough about him, obviously the FO was not high on him for whatever reason.
So in the two seconds I spent in this thread I learned that it is somehow possible for a 7th round pick to be both a high risk pick and a reach AND that somehow there is someone out there that thinks Idzik will wind up a better drafter than Macc. Never change ganggreen.
The Bengals selected Westerman in round five (a few picks after us). Given their recent success I would say they are pretty good at drafting. He also had a great combine and was given a 5.82 (round 2-3) rating by NFL,com Link below has NFL.com writeup and combine results: http://www.nfl.com/draft/2016/profiles/christian-westerman?id=2555131
