I would be willing to bet that Mark doesnt have a starting job next year. Cant see any team wanting to take him on as their starter. He will definitely get some invites to camps though to compete though. The few teams that are in desperate need for a QB will most likely choose one of the main 3 and go with them next year. (Boyd, Bridgewater, Manziel)
Wouldn't be funny if Sanchez pulled a Jim Plunkett and went to another franchise and won a SB. Okay, maybe not that funny.
If I had a "bad team" and needed an experienced qb to start immediately while grooming a rookie I spent an early draft pick on, Mark Sanchez probably would be my last choice. He's a player, not a tutor...and he's not going to be effective on a "bad team" as a starter. I hope he lands on a team that can use him...I just can't think of one off the top of my head. Can you?
Mark Sanchez will never take another snap for the Jets again. He got paid by Tannenbaum. Good riddance. Don't feel sorry for Sanchez. Come next March. Cut. Holmes will join him.
The same organization handed him a contract which made him a very wealthy guy. If it wasn't for that contract,Mark would not have been on the team.
They're just spinning and selling. If Mark Sanchez had a real shot at being the starter this year it died in the first pre-season game against the Lions when his erratic play resurfaced on the Jets first drive and continued later in the game. He was playing to win the starting job the night he got hurt against the Giants. Geno looked not ready in a big way after the first 3 quarters and Rex gave Sanchez the opportunity to differentiate himself (again) with a strong performance against scrubs. Instead he got hurt, which is what happens sometimes in the NFL. If Sanchez had won the competition to be the starting QB he'd have been the starter in the third pre-season game that is traditionally the warm-up game for the season. Starters play the first 3 quarters in that game. Guess who played the first three quarters in that game? The guy who started the season for the Jets. Sanchez had a real shot to take the job in that fourth quarter, instead he got hurt. The idea that he was going to be the starter going into the season absent a strong performance in that fourth quarter is just wrong. If he'd looked like the Mark Sanchez that had showed up all through camp he was going to be on the bench. He'd have been starting that game otherwise. People suggesting that Rex hurt Sanchez by putting him in couldn't be farther from the truth. Rex was throwing him yet another lifeline, one of many so far in the last season or so, and this time the prevailing winds grabbed that lifeline and threw it back in Rex's face. Matt Simms should have been the 4th quarter QB in that game and Mark Sanchez should have been sitting on the bench at the start of the season, waiting to give Geno breathers when he needed them. Rex was giving Sanchez one last chance to reverse that situation and it blew up on him.
I think he sent him a facebook message around 1AM yesterday morning to set up surgery in the afternoon:rofl: Sad ending to a very promising career, hopefully for him he gets healthy and has a great career for an NFC team. Thank you Mark for all you did for our team.
stop it, he had the job locked up. Our GM made the call to play him that night and unintentionally he got the result he desired which was geno starting which wouldn't have happened w/o Mark getting hurt.
I agree Junc it was pretty obvious Sanchez was going to be the starter. With that being said unless Geno totally collapses or has a career type injury Sanchez will be gone. Mark Thank you for the memories and being the most successful playoff QB in Jets history. Most Jets fan appreciate what you did for the franchise and will never forget the 2010 run. Good luck in the future I for one wish you well.
It's pretty obvious that Geno was going to start. If a 4 year vet can't out play a rookie he's not going to get to start. Five games in, it's also obvious that Geno is the better quarterback. It's sad the Sanchez trolls have to ruin every thread. Maybe you guys can move on to a new gimmick to troll people with...

It was pretty obvious that the current GM and OC had no confidence in Sanchez after reviewing the tape on him. They brought in a veteran and they drafted a rookie in the second round. When Gerard craped out Sanchez wasn't given the job. That tells me that the Jets didn't have confidence in him and never intended to let him start. Bringing him in for mop up duty in a preseason game is exactly the role they had in mind for him this year. Jets management had no intention of every starting Sanchez again. 09 and 10 were great. He had a wonderful game against NE in the playoffs in 10. A good time but the guy was done as the NY Jets QB when Tannenbaum was fired. That's why he was fired.
Yeah, yeah he may have gotten the first start, I will give you that but by your own admission everybody in the Jets FO wanted Smith to be the QB this year. I don't believe for a second that Sanchez would have lasted beyond his second turnover or better put the 2nd quarter of game 1. So really what does it matter?
you may want to actually watch football, nothing that you wrote is correct. w/ the talent, OC and early season sched he would be thriving right now and Geno wouldn't have seen the field. The Gm wanted Geno w/o a doubt but there's no way they take out Mark if we are winning and we would have been at least 3-4 heading into Mon Night's game.
You've made 42k posts and none of them have any value. Congratulations on being a waste of bandwidth.
Could not have said it better. Even in the win monday night he looked genuinely excited for the team. I hope the best for him. Maybe he'll go to the vikings and tear it up.
