It's our #1 need by far.

None of our other positions (LB, Safety, Dline, Oline, WR/TE) were dead last in the entire NFL.

Taking into account the fact that Crowder, Barrios, and Cole are free agents, here's my list:

    1. RG
    2. TE
    3. WR
    4. S
    5. Edge

If we resign Barrios and Crowder, WR moves down to #5 on my list.

I do believe that Edge and S will have a significant impact right away, but we're not going to the playoffs in 2022 anyway, and so first priority is getting Zach weapons/development. 2022 should be meaningfully better than 2021, and hopefully Jets are playoff bound in 2023.

So stop and think this through:

You want to replace Zach because you think that based on stats he's the worst QB in the league and won't continue to improve as he did after he returned from injury. And further, you don't have a QB to replace him with, because keep in mind, any vet you might be able to sign won't be anything more than average at best and yet will cost an arm and a leg, thus limiting what help JD can get for him, and you just said that there is no QB in this class worth a top pick, meaning that their probability of success, let alone play this year, let alone be better than Zach is about zero.

Let all that sink in. Net result: you're recommending that we head into next year with what option that's better than Zach?

In any case, there is ZERO chance that Douglas and Saleh give up on Wilson at this point.

You can continue rooting against him if it makes you feel better, but you're in for continued disappointment.

No. The last thing I wanna do is replace Zack.
The second last thing I wanna do is pretend all is well on the FQB front and completely ignore it. I think JD needs to start considering a plan B. It doesn't have to be all or nothing.

Maybe that means going to some QB prodays. Maybe that means quietly talking to the Texans.

But if ZW keeps playing like he did last season and gets benched 3 games into our 2024 season, let's not act like we never saw it coming and we have nothing in the works.

What the Jets need to do is to have a legit starting option for 2022 on the roster in camp opposite Zach.

That does not mean the guy has to be a FQB or FQB possibility. He just needs to be a potential bridge to the next QB in the event that Zach still looks sloppy and unable to handle the simple things next season.

Lots of QB's can't throw a deep ball on a dime and they do just fine in the NFL as a starter on a team not expected to go deep into the playoffs. It's obvious to everybody that they're not going to get their team to the final game and most teams are looking for other options while also allowing the guy to help them win some games now.

There are no starting QB's that can't do the simple stuff that keep drives alive and allow the offense to function at a basic level.

If Zach throws a pretty deep ball but cannot complete the simple stuff he can't play QB in the NFL. There are no jobs for that kind of guy available and especially not on a team as bad as the Jets.

So at a minimum the Jets need to find the guy who can do the simple stuff if Zach can't get it done next year. Without that key ingredient LaFleur will not get the offense installed in time to save his and Saleh's jobs and Douglas is going to have a hard time explaining why he could not find a guy to take the job Zach couldn't do.

    Team needs:
    1. S
    2. TE
    3. OL
    4. EDGE
    5. LB
    6. WR

    As far as draft value:
    1. EDGE
    2. OL
    3. WR
    4. TE
    5. S
    6. LB

Not every need will be addressed but I agree with previous posts … JD needs about 5 starters in this draft regardless of which position.

JD seems like the type of guy to have a plan B and Plan C in place… how about we see how plan A works before we start proclaiming the sky is falling.

Dude, JD is not taking a QB. Saleh and JD believe in Zach as they should.

No, it isn't. It's not a need at all.

1 thru 5 new head coach and assistant coaches. The current guy can't stop anyone and can't score.

If ZW does well and is the playmaker most of us think he is…. You can comfortably say you never saw it coming.

You're talking to a guy who wanted Darnold back for a 4th year.

Remember when DWC started a thread proclaiming this would be the best QB class of all time? He predicted like 8 QBs go in the 1st….

Combining impact/current state of the roster heading into free agency

    1. Safety
    2. Tight End
    3. Wide Receiver
    4. Right Guard
    5. Edge
    6. Cornerback
    7. Defensive Tackle

Safety, TE, and WR move up due to the dire need for quantity as well as quality at the top of the depth chart.

    2,074 Yards, 10 TD, 12 INT, 67.9 Rating

If a rookie put up these numbers in 12 games(11 starts), should he have to compete for his job in year 2?
