What a sad group of coaches....Rex gets it because of the two AFC title games with Sanchez at QB.

The catch is, Herm had Pennington, and he had healthy Pennington that could throw.

Rex had Dirty Sanchez. With Dirty Sanchez as his QB, Herm will not go anywhere beyond .400.

    I rest my case.

I would go Rex, Herm, Mangini, Bowles.

Rex almost got us over the hump, herm had Chad, Mangini helped draft a few cornerstone player (he may have been a better talent evalautor than the other coaches), Bowles shouldn't even be on this list as he has done nothing.

they were all terrible. they were all under .500.

i dont give 2 shits who is the best of the worst. we need to find a real fucking coach that is going to win more games than he loses and maybe even a goddamn superbowl.

    sheesh.

Rex - 2 AFCCG put him at the top no matter what.

Mangini - I put him ahead of Herm because of the people he drafted, allowing for some of the successes by Ryan and Bowles.

Herm - Could very well flip him with Mangini here. Always liked him. Great motivator. Not a good game day coach.

Groh - 9-4 and then ran the team into the ground.

Bowles - Has never shown an ounce of improvement when it comes to game day decisions. Could flip him with Groh, but can't possibly go higher.

Herm didn't play to win the game. He is just like Bowles in my opinion. Vanilla on defense and offense. Plus the clock management thing still bothers me. I would go 1. Rex, 2. Mangini 3. Herm and 4. Bowles.

I can't argue with this, but it does raise the question: How much credit does Herm get for whipping Peyton's (and Dungy's) Colts 41-0 in the playoffs? And for getting us a home playoff game to start with?

Man, when you lay out the records, this looks so bad. Ranking these guys’ tenures is like choosing between German Shepard, Rottweiler, Schnauzer, and poodle shit. Beyond the losing records, these guys also have in common that they also didn’t have success after the Jets, too. The coaches are just bad. Ryan didn’t stink as poorly, but it doesn’t alter the fact that his tenure was dog shit.

It’s so consistently bad. They should fire whomever does the hiring. (Get an executive president that knows football, maybe?) Sorry for the rant.

This list is like complimenting the tallest in a group of dwarfs.

However, I still give Rex credit for getting that 2013 squad to 8-8. They had absolutely no game changing talent on that roster.

I know it is the off-season, but ranking the Jets shitty coaches? Come on, now! Okay, I will do it. :)

Rex is terrible and probably my least favorite of them all, yet he has the most accomplishments with 4 playoff wins and 2 AFC Title Game appearances. Herm had the best QB in Chad (when healthy) Mangini probably was the best, but he was a weirdo and everyone hated him. Groh wasn't here long enough to count and Bowles is by far the worst. A total and complete loser, yet somehow respected in league circles. Maybe they say they respect him, but truly are just laughing at the Jets.

    I am results oriented, so:
    1. Rex-4 playoff wins
    2. Herm- 2 playoff wins, 1 AFC East championship
    3. Mangini- 1 playoff appearance
    4. Bowles- 10 win season
    5. Groh- 9 win season

    But all are pretty bad.

The best thing about this thread is how everyone (including me) feels kind of dirty in even talking about how "good" these guys were.

What a pointless thread. So what will this accomplish? I guess I'm not a big fan of idle chit-chat and recalling disappointing memories.
