to be fair in his words Rosen wasn’t given the chance and supporting cast that darnold and others have gotten (whatever that means).

I think some of these are not really red flags, and can be coached. I see the following red flags though that make me worried about Zach:
    1) Agree with surgeries on both shoulders. Throwing arm is more important one of course, but the fact he had it on both make me wonder if there is a propensity to be prone to injury in this area in the future. That is probably the biggest red as you said.
    2) Also agree with the size. Looks a bit smaller than 6-3 and light, which is more of a red flag, given #1 above.

Below I would not call red flags, but more of boxes that have not been checked.
    1) Level of competition has overall been week, and this year was even weaker than usual.
    2) Not highly regarded out of HS, only one good year of performance, against weaker than usual competition. Last year he was 11TDs/9 INTs on 62% completion.

As you said, Fields checks all of the above boxes. That's why before the season he was touted as close #2 to Lawrence. The only reason why he went down is because he had one so so game, and one bad game. But he sure turned that around on the biggest stage possible against #2 rated team and basically erased the doubt that was cast. If the guy goes on to win national championship in a week, he is pretty much right there with Lawrence. 1 loss as a starter, national champ, leader, dual threat, great athlete, checks every box. A bit shorter than Trevor and started 2 years instead of 3. Even if he doesn't win (I actually think he has broken ribs and not sure how much he will be able to practice/play at full strength), if he is there at #2, Douglas needs to run as hard as he can to make that selection.

Lol this isn't the best endorsement I've seen. Predicting demise in the NFL is almost like predicting the sun will rise... and you're hanging your hat on predicting the demise of an NFL journeyman (fitz) and a rookie QB (Darnold)? Then the sizzle is not being wrong on Mayfield yet? The timers going on that one guy.

Also, this is a TGG problem, but not every qb not named Mahomes/Wilson/Brady sucks. I hear it here all the time.. this qb sucks, that qb sucks, suck suck suck. I don't consider people good evaluators if they drool over the best 1 or 2 guys in the entire league but the scouting on other players are "oh, they suck." That being said, Cousins isn't great but he doesn't suck. Most logical people knew that he got overpaid, which is a common theme in FA. He's paid way too much, hard to blame him for that.

No kidding. I cringe every time some people say Cousins sucks. He does not by any means. He's just not a QB that will necessarily carry a team by himself. Very few QB's do and can. Cousins is still a top 10-15 QB in the league.

In my experience, people who talk about how certain they are about being right all the time, how they don't listen to anyone else's opinions, and how much smarter and more knowledgeable they are than everyone else... usually aren't. Just my 2 cents.

Be that as it may, but the guy is on his 4th team now and his value has gone from top 10, to second rounder, to 0. If you are not willing to admit this was a miss, then you will never admit anything. Even Sam can probably be traded for something at this point and someone can also give excuse he was still a top prospect with bad coach. Maybe they can change things around at some point, but today's reality is that both Sam and Rosen have been misses, and Rosen was a bigger miss.

But you have been wrong, so don't say you know things for sure. Nothing is for certain when it comes to the quarterback position.

That's the thing, if you are not willing to admit Rosen was a miss, you will not admit anything. If you ask any expert to rate the 1st round QB class of 2018, it will be Allen/Lamar as top 2, Baker #3, Sam #4, Rosen #4. This is pretty much the consensus (the only debate could be who is #1 Allen or Jackson). There is no controversy here. If you are not willing to accept that, then I don't expect you to really admit anything.

Don't be so quick to dismiss Zach. Now, I am as happy as anyone Fields has now cemented #2 spot and checked some of the boxes that came into doubt in this short season, but Zach even with his flaws, is still a top talent. If Fields/Lawrence do not declare, he is the next best thing we will need to take a chance on. Let's hope they both declare though.

Lawrence and Fields are for sure declaring, lol. But imagine if they didn't? Jacksonville would go insane, lmao. They'd almost have to go with Zach Wilson by default you'd think.

Cousins passer rating has been over 105 the last two years. He threw for 4,200 yards, 35 touchdowns and 13 interceptions on 67%+ completion percentage.

    Agree completely.

Would be hard to not be excited as a teammate when your QB has that can do attitude. It makes everyone around you better

This doesn't. I do feel a little silly though. Ha

I don't know why, but, I thought he was referring to Russell Wilson?

I'm not completely sure actually re-reading his post. Lmao

That's why I said Wilson has at least 2, maybe 3 or even 4. I agree that his aggressive running style and risk-taking throws can be coached out of him IF he is willing to make that change, but there are no guarantees. Look at Sam. Everyone thinks he's a great kid and hard worker, yet when his own QB Coach that he has paid for the last 3 years tried to get him to fix his footwork, Sam refused. Similarly, Wilson could refuse to scale back his aggressiveness, or his psyche may not allow him to for several years. It may be too much a part of his persona. He may have to mature some more before he lets those things go, and he could be seriously injured by the time that happens.

I didn't say that level of competition was a red flag, nor did I say that only having one year of high level play was a red flag. Those are just concerns or something to consider.

I'm not sold on Wilson. He could be very good, but he could also be a bust given that he tries to play like Mahomes even though he doesn't have Mahomes's gifts. IMO Fields has an equally high ceiling and a higher floor provided you hire an offensive coach who isn't stuck in the 1990s. For that matter, after seeing the successes of Allen, Jackson, Murray, and maybe even Hurts and Hill, I'm not even sure if I like Wilson better than Lance, assuming Lance doesn't show up to the pre-draft events rusty (which would make me question his work ethic).

I have to ask... when you search a video on YouTube about a certain player and its got some "expert" who handpicks 4-5 plays that he then explains his understanding of what is happening to fit his narrative, do you then turn around and say that you "watched film" on a player?

I'm asking because you've posted a number of those videos like they prove something for you.

Last time I watched film it was to break down a game from one play to the next (beginning to end) to understand the successes and failures in execution.

I think Fields would be great on the Jets. He’s just got that “it” factor that I think can help him overcome the pressures of New York.

Yeah we can talk all day about true value but the reality is QB's always get taken quickly because they're so important. If you wait until the value is there your guy is already gone 99/100 times.
