Well was I rtight.; Raiders special teams were sio much better than Jets and they did win the field position battle all game.
The Raiders tried on Sunday... they tried hard to give that game to the Jets, but no matter how many shots they handed us, we just didn't get it done. Score one for the Raiders and RaiderJeaux. Good hunting Jeaux.
I almost felt sorry for Brett favre. How many shots did Raiders get on this guy. I wonder how long it took him To get out of bed on Monday. (what a warrior) Raiders Oline and defensiveline dominated this game. Jets got all those rushing yards was more on the Raiders Lbs over persuing (thats unacceptable to give up that much rushing yards to a below average running team.) . Tom Kelly dominated most of the members of Jets Oline. I predicted in the offseason he would get the best of Alan faneca. (how did that prediction turn out and what do yiou think about kelly again.
Yeah I felt sorry for him too, the Raiders were punishing him pretty badly with that spread offense early on, not to mention the sacks that happened later in the game.
Well to be Fair to Mangini thats what everyone was doing against the Raiders and doing quite well. Only diffrence this time is Raiders were alot more agressive on defense against this spread offense. Instead of sitting back, they were attacking. Finally Rob Ryan you figured that out.
There were more predcictions I was right on to be fair.(made in offseason) Tom Kelly would dominate Alan Faneca. Well Tom Kelly dominated alot of Jets Olineman sunday. (it wasn't only faneca - Mangold . Jets didn't have the personel on offense that could hurt Raiders defense. Those two great Jet wr look pretty average to me. Raiders when they threw were picking on that Lowery guy. Raiders running game I wouldn't exactly say was stopped by Jets run defense. IF Mcfadden was healthy you can bet he would have saw more carrrys. (might had chance to reach my prediction) Still Raiders put up the best rushing total on the jets this year.
My stream was pretty crappy, and I even went to bed before the 4th quater. So I can´t really say that much right now, I´ll have to watch the game again tonight. But some things right now. 1. I can´t remember seeing Kelly at any time and the Jets runninggame looked pretty good, so I wouldn´t call him dominant. Did he even have a tackle? 2. There´s a lot of Talk around Raidernation, how hard it is for Hall to play opposite a corner like Asu. Revis isn´t quite the player Asu is, yet, but he´s already one great CB and Lowery is a 4th round Rookie, of course teams pick on him, teams also picked on Revis early last season. And all Raiders WRs had 7 catches combined, so the Jets CBs didn´t have that bad of a day. 3. I thought McFadden looked healty. Enjoy the win this week.
When your watching the tape Key in on # 93 Tom Kelly. He dominated everyone of your olineman.(Faneca, Mangold) . Watch the tape and tell me what you think. HE DOMINATED. Kelly is one best Dt in the game. ( unfortunately your oline had to find out the hard way. 2. There is a big diffrence between Jamarcus Russell(basically a rookie versus a Brett favre( hof QB) Jamarcus Russell still trying to find himself and not comfortable in raiders offense yet. Right now with Russell going through growing pains, what more can you expect froim raiders Wr. Jamarcus Russell going to be a great Qb in time. Brett favre dosen't have many more seasons left. 3. Mcfadden still not healthy. You can bet if he was he would have gotten more than eight carrys. Not to mention the carry on third and two.( to end football game in regulation) Would have seen him play a little Qb also if healthy.
You do understand that Favre is a 38 year old Qb that has seeen every defense in the league. Russell an inexperienced QB that going through growing pains. To compare both at this stage is not fair . Russell is the future and Brett favre is the past. \With time Russell only going to get better and Favre going to keep slipping.
i wasn't comparing them, favre should be better than russell at this point. i just thought your argument as to why was silly.
raiderjoe i know you got the win but can you actually be pleased with how both teams played? I mean this was a horribly watched game. Your Special Teams did kill us. Leon Washington couldn't get anything going. But I was right when we shut down ur running game. You did get some 5-8 yard bursts but for the most part we did great there.
I think Kelly is a good pass rushing D-lineman, but the guy couldn't stop my grandmother from gaining 100 yards on the ground. His run recognition is piss-poor.
Listen you know what AL davis says. Just win baby. Nobody taking away Buffalo and San Diego Victories over the Raiders. Raiders should have won both games going away. With the way, the other teams are crumbling in the AFc West (injuries are piling up) its not out of question Raiders can possible steal the Afc West divison this year. For that to be a reality Raiders are going to have to find a way to string a couple victories together. Their offense also going to have to play alot better. You don't get extra wins for looking good, its all about finding ways to get a W. I disagree I wouldn't say Jets shutdown Raiders running game. They ran well over 100 yards, averaging 4 yards per carry. No other team (Chargers or Miami) running attacks could muster that against Jets run defense.
True you won the game joe but that doesn't change the fact that both teams played horribly. The jets should win next week against KC as they'll be pissed off. I want to see a 50 point blowout agianst them. After that we face Buffalo and I think NE, then will see how the Jets are from there
