I guess you haven't seen that many Jet preseason games this year. I know alot of my Jet Friends have been dissapointed in him. (I warned them before
and they are starting to come around)
Fact is A dyson is not that good. Like I stated before we can wait till end of the season and see what you think.

Again like J George you're concered about a CB(D starks ) that is way down the depth chart. It would be diffrent if they were counting on him to ber amajor contributor like A Dyson. LMao.

Yea he has a high pass deflection rate because teams are throwing so many times his way. Can you find out the percentage of first downs that were completed on him. You can Bet Titans will be targeting him alot opening day. They know hes not that good, but I guess you have to find that out for your self.

They'd be better off with John Starks.

Well A dyson not very good CB but even I won't go as far to say John " Choker" Starks would be a better Cb than him.

I've yet to watch the giants game but Dyson didn't put a foot wrong in the first two games. He's also had a very good camp(Just like every player at the raiders camp  ).I couldn't be happier with the Dyson signing.

We also have to ask you the question have you seen Starks play?I've seen a few people who say Dyson is overrated but you are the first to say that Starks is better than him.Either you think the ability to be constantly beat is a good thing for a corner or you haven't no clue how bad Starks was last year.

You have to learn to read. What I believe I said was D Starks had the better career than A Dyson. He once was a very good CB, I don't think you can say that about dyson. D starks played in like 7 games for New england and his biggest problem the last couple years is his inability to stay healthy. Now I will admit I didn't see too much D starks last year, but you did in all seven games, to make accurate assessment of him. (BTW was Starks healthy last year) From scouting reports I read they claim Starks was not healthy last year and he wasn't a good fit for Patriots cover two defense.

ONe thing I know for a fact is A dyson is not that good. Ive seen him alot and usually it was the other team picking on him.
Again flor millonth time, who cares what Starks has left. The Raiders aren't counting on him to be a major player. HE served his purpose as a veteran mentor, who can give Raiders young CB some valuable lessons .
I( can't believe your overreacting to players so far down the Raiders depth chart. ITs not like andre Dyson situation- a key player your counting on.
    Big diffrence.

Sorry but it sounds like you just said that Dyson is worse than Starks.

This guy will make some hell of a mentor for two weeks.

-He has a history of having a bad attitude
-He has a history of having poor compatibility with his teammates
    -He is a complete bust.
-He hasn't thrown a pass in 4 years.

What's good from this signing. If you can actually find a way to support this, than you're a serious homer...

I've said this isn't a good signing, but it's not a disaster either. It is what it is: a fourth string, insurance guy who may or may not even be on the roster a week from now. I'm not trying to make it a great signing, but you're trying to make it a disaster, which is wrong. There is a miniscule upside and no downside to this move. If you're suggesting that he is going to walk into Shell's locker room and turn it upside down with his attitude, you're clueless. Ask Jerry Porter. And while we're talking about attitude, is Barlow one of these "Mangini guys" I've been hearing so much about?

And the Starks thing is weak too. He's been playing in the third and fourth quarter of preseason games. I'm pretty sure that Washington, Asomugha, and Routt are a lot more important to the Raider secondary, and I'm pretty good with that.

Jeaux and NJ - You both have been around here long enough that you ought not be wandering around without respectable avatars. This one was given to me to pass along to you, Jeaux. Your PM's are turned off, so I couldn't send it to you.

NJ, I'm in the process of finding an artist with a fitting concept. :) You'll have yours soon enough.

Wear 'em. Don't go around posting nekkid.

You'll get what you get. :)

I have confidence that there's enough creativity around this place to fix you up nicely. HarHarHar.

Jeaux's actually a real good sport. I see he's already wearing the thing.

Well Kevan Barlow isn't supposed to be a mentor for younger players, so it's diffrent.

Jeff George is just a poor teammate. That's great for the younger players...

Doesn't matter if Barlow is supposed to be a mentor; he will be a role model due to his playing a prominent role on your team. Nobody in Oakland said the Raiders signed George to be a mentor. I think you're overestimating the effect that a 4th string QB who may or may not make the team will have on "team chemistry".

Check out one of the things Jeremy Green of ESPN said about it, this is the point I'm trying to make:

    Here's more:

In other words, just another example of Al Davis lending a hand to an ex Raider who he likes, which is one of the things I admire about him. And according to the people I know out there, George was actually a good guy. Some of the coaches, including Biletnikoff and Willie Brown, actually kept in touch with him after he left. They let him go because Gannon was a better fit in Gruden's offense, not because he was some kind of team cancer.

Man, the Raiders are just odd. Whenever I'm reading some Raider news I always have the same feeling I get when I'm watching a British sitcom.

So he won't be a mentor, he won't make the team, what's the point?

I'll take that as a compliment since the British (original) version of "The Office" is the funniest show I've ever seen!

Nothing ventured, nothing gained, right? If he looks good maybe they cut Tui loose and let him be #3 since they already have their "young up and comer" in Walter. If they cut George, at least they gave a shot to a guy they liked in the past and maybe he can parlay that into a job somewhere else. Say what you will about the Raiders but 99% of their ex-players are very loyal to Davis for this kind of thing.

They signed George for one week and he will be cut.

Going into the final preseason game Aaron Brooks will play very little, if at all.
Walter has a 'tired' shoulder that they don't want to overwork.
That leaves them with Tui to play almost the whole game.

KC signed Jeff Smoker recently for the same reason.

Now if he makes the final roster, then I will laugh.
