Unfortunate but he's been awesome this year and I'm glad they're being safe with him. I hope we get him another running mate. JFM and the rest of the band are good rotational players. But imagine Quinnen Williams was flanked by two NFL defensive ends? Not even great pass rushers but better players than we've trotted out there. He is nowhere near what Aaron Donald is because realistically no one is and it's unfair to make that comparison. But he plays similarly. He pushes double teams back and doesn't allow QB's to step up. He can beat guards on single blocks with both inside and outside pass rush moves. And he really bullies guards and centers at times. He uses his hands well and does not let opposing offensive lineman engage him in his chest plate (which is a legal place to hold and drive). He also has learned to just blow the play up and stop worrying about where the ball is or where the play is going. He was thinking too much as a rookie. Destroy the guard/center and ask questions later and let the linebackers figure out where the ball carrier is. The impact play will happen if the guard is driven two yards back. He looked like he was standing guards up and trying to figure out what was going on last year.
Jets aren't tanking. Get real! There's no sense in risking Williams' health in this lost season. Let him begin the healing process so he's ready to go day one next season.
I don't think this is a game or "tank" move. I don't want him injured at all. He looks like he is going to be a stud for us, and I don't want anything that could limit his ability or shorten his career to happen to him.
Sucks, but there's not a single reason for him to even take the practice field unless he's 100% at this point. He's a star in the making. I do wish he could have finished out the season with double digit sacks because unfortunately there are still people that rate a player based on how many sacks they finished with. At least it would have been nice to eliminate that option.
He stepped up big time in year 2 no question let him rest and heal and hit it next year.... nothing to gain by playing him now
According to the commentary he said I'm not like Aaron Donald, I'm more like Fletcher Cox. I'm good with that.
Lol, I know... was kidding... like it would be so Jets to tank after winning a game and lose out on #1...
Next year Q will be the same age as most of our draft class and finally be filling out his man body. Domination 2021.
Sorry that he's hurt but glad that they are being cautious with him. There's absolutely no reason to send him out there if there's any chance of a negative outcome with the injury. Plus, it was pretty clear that he was concussed when he was leaving the field, so he should have been ruled out before now anyway.
Q is the man! Even though he plays for Gmen , glad to see Dexter Lawrence on this list as well. He is from my home town and went to same High School as my son. My son played with Dexter’s younger brother who went to UNC to play RB but did not a stick.
