Question: What non-significant player can we trade in order to add a 5th round pick? Brad Smith? Does anyone think we can get a 4h for Justin Miller?
There is no way Mark Parson is going in the 4th , i wish though i wouldnt mind spending a 2nd on him or Alphonso Smith.
MY MOCK 1 - William Moore S Mizzou (NO)2 - LeSean McCoy RB Pittsburgh 2 - Mark Parson CB Ohio **Trade** 2 4ths for 3rd 3 - Jasper Brinkley ILB S.Carolina 5 - Fallen OT Day 1 Prospect (a la Carl Nicks of last year i call Phil Loadholt or Fenuki Tupou) 6 - Somebody 7 - Else
Brad Smith is our antwan randle el. He can play any skill position on Offense. Getting rid of him would take out all of our trick plays we have... And for Justin Miller, I say don't trade him and put him on Punt Returns and keep him as a nickle back while Leon does the Kick Returns.
Basically the trade is so we can draft Ron Brace for the 2009 draft - the NT alongside B.J. Raji who happens to be bigger, just about as disruptive but Raji gets all the press, and better fit for the 3-4. So in essence I would trade Justin Miller or Brad Smith for him, since in the draft we get a better nickel corner in Parson and a better WR in Mitchell, even though Smith is the key to trick plays and carries some value on special teams.
Parson will not be a 2nd round choice - he has the skills to be drafted there but there will be guys like Mike Mickens, Victor Harris, Alphonso Smith, Trevard Lindley, DJ Moore, Darius Butler, Domonique Johnson, and DeAngelo Willingham will all be available outside the 1st round and will likely be drafted before him. For example no Cover 2 teams would consider drafting Parson. I'm down with Fenuki I have us taking him in my mock. Can play RT or RG, crusing run blocker.
