http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/football/nfl/09/06/raiders.russell.ap/index.html?eref=si_nfl I guess Russell isn't close to signing. Longest holdout for a top pick since Bo Jackson.
Yes he is , will be done no later than Saturday. I can wait for my franchise Qb to sign. Eventually going to have him. You might have to wait till next year when you clearly will be drafting a Qb early in the draft.
Yeah, I would put a paycheck on the Raiders picking another QB early in the draft before the Jets will be. Russell or no Russell.
yea Give Brad smith another year to develope, and he will be ready to be Jets Qb of the future. LMao. Don't make bets your paycheck can't cover.
You are clearly mentally dysfunctional. It is spelled "Develop" Brad Smith is not our QB. And the phrase is " Do not write checks your ass can't cash" I swear, the Raiders have to have the most retarded fan base around. You blindly follow a crypt keeper who shits his pants. You dress up like it is Halloween in San Francisco. And you believe that it is OK that your "Franchise QB" is still not signed... Hey joe, I thought the announcement was slated for last night during the big game?!?!
Uh, does the name Kellen Clemens ring a bell? When I was in college in the Bay Area, I went to a few Jets-Raiders games. This was during that stretch in which we played them something like 6 times in 4 seasons, including the playoffs. Some highlights of the Raider experience: -When we beat them in 2001 my senior year, my car was parked in the lot with Jets stickers and license plate holders. Some fans decided to put broken glass and 2 whole beer bottles under my tires. Problem is, I was parked facing forward in the spot...and they put the stuff behind my tires. Drove straight out without touching any of it. -I must have seen 15 different spellings of "Raiders". -Walking through the lot before one game, I passed two guys putting each other's face paint on. One of them suddenly started shouting "Ow ow ow. In my eye! In my eye! Get it out, get it out, get it out!" like a little girl. -Guys in masks and costumes screaming in my face...and that's it. Just like a haunted house. I've seen an opposing fan beaten up once. I was at a Chiefs-Raiders game with my sister, who was friends with a Chiefs player. We sat next to family and friends of players, and Tony Gonzalez's step father came out of the bathroom with a slightly bloody face and piss down the front of him. He got jumped at the urinal by 3 guys. He's an old, small, quiet white guy...and they had to jump him from behind. Real tough fans there.
Come on Dude you have to use reliable sources.............. That was not funny. Chris Mortenson reports that a deal is imminent between the Raiders and J. Russell: Chris Mortenson Report with real info on the imminent Russell signing
Wanna hear about the time I saw a guy in a Klecko jersey vomit from the upper deck of Giants Stadium onto a bunch of innocent fans below? Or how about the two grown men who faked coughing as they spilled their beers-on purpose-all over a 12 year old kid in a Rams jacket. Real tough fans there. There are jackasses in every crowd, including yours.
The difference being that fans of my team don't dress up like it's Halloween every day and proclaim themselves to be the hardest fans in the NFL. They don't look like Gwar rejects and think that they're intimidating. There are jackasses in every crowd, including mine. I'm just glad they don't make up the majority of the stadium, like in some places. If the team wanted to keep the hardcore image, it should have stayed in LA. THOSE were some nasty SOBs.
Sheeesshh... you miss my point. Who cares? EDIT: Disregard... I just clicked the link. Yeah, you got me on that one.
Yeah, you're right, dressing up is worse than the behavior I described. And no, the majority of the stadium is not comprised of jackasses.
You may have noticed that my original point was that the behavior (moronic, inept, and fake) exhibited by the fans was incongruous with the image of Raider Nation. No, dressing up is not inherently worse than dropping beer on a kid. If you're going to dress up and pretend to be a badass, though, you'd better be a badass. It's laughable to go through all that and merely be a jackass. Jets fans don't cultivate an image of being hell spawn and then behave like a bunch of idiot 12 year olds. We just have some fans who act like idiot 12 year olds with no pretense. As far as the stadium...believe what you want to. You obviously don't make it to too many games any more. I have friends who fly up for every game in Oakland and refuse to take their families because they're embarrassed of the fans. All of them.
