Die is cast. Ryan and Sanchez are going to sink or swim together. Kind of ironic that a defensive specialist like Ryan has his coaching career riding on a young QB. That probably wouldn't have been the case if they would have brought a veteran QB in this year to help with Sanchez's transition.

Flacco and Matt Ryan last year made a lot of people believe that the world for Rookie QB's was different now. It's not.

I've said it before - for my money it will work out. Sanchez will progress and be a solid QB.

For all those calling to bring in this guy or bring in that guy,,, or Sanchez sucks, bring in Clemens,, well, look at the economics. The Jets have too much invested in Sanchez NOT to keep him in there. Keep playing him, take your lumps now (better than later) and see how much better he can get. Rookie coach, rookie q-back, this was a building year not an instant success year. We've never had success before, so I'd expect a little more patience with the rookie personal we currently have. Again, we CAN NOT afford to take Sanchez off the field, too much invested.

Yes. 1) we need a backup we can trust. Noone trusts KC and he is terrible.
    2) Just in case Snatchez really is a bust, a little insurance policy. Before you fanboys flame away, remember I said Just in case...not that he is.

Backup with be addressed next season for sure. Kellen is going to be shown the door, and Tanny will look for some crusty vet. However, don't look for a big name. The perfect candidate will be someone with some playing experience, but someone who won't rock the boat and play "coach".

The staff also seems to like Ainge, so there is also a possibility this won't happen. But my money is on a vet.

Man, I sure wish Sanchez was winning as many games as Ryan and Flacco are this season.

WTF? Why would we want to bench Sanchez after we give him a years worth of start? Are you insane? Im sure many people knocked the wind out of you, I didn't read the thread, but how does ANYONE think that way? They ONLY way he gets benched is if we bring in Brady, Manning or such. This is not the way to groom a QB, starting him first season where he performs just like a first round rookie QB does and then getting a veteran QB just to see Sanchez lose all the confidence and drop his play quality.

Sanchez will be better next season - at least he should know how to slide!

Seriously, I think he's the kind of QB that will improve with time - just like Peyton manning.

He's much more like a lesser version of John Elway. The question is how much lesser? Elway came into the NFL thinking he could dominate the same way he had at the NCAA level. He quietly pushed back against Dan Reeves as much as he could and partly as a result had a really poor first year. He did all the same stupid things that Sanchez has done this year: refusing to throw the ball away under pressure, scrambling in traffic, forcing the ball into coverage, fumbling, etc. It took him the better part of two seasons to finally settle down and stop making mistakes.

Not wanting to bring in someone to "compete" with Sanchez is a pretty lame idea. I say bring in the best QB we can find and start the QB that plays the best. If Sanchez is the best let him rise to the challenge and prove it.

Garcia is the most skilled but also known for being a bit of a selfish teamate and not a good mentor. I would have to pass on him at this point.
