And playing with people who may be getting cut before the season starts. That excuse cuts both ways.

Sanchez has yet to play a preseason game w/ his full compliment of weapons.

Missed holmes and kerley 2 of 3 games
missed Keller the game those 2 came back
has not had Tebow in his role.

he's been starting w/ Patrick Turner and a rookie.

    Yards generated:

    Sanchez:
    220 yards Rushing/Passing on 35 attempts

    Tebow:
    235 yards Rushing/Passing on 36 attempts

Tebow would be better off if they ran him in the spread option rather than forcing him to get work under center, but the Jets are trying to develop him as a real QB. He does look pretty poor when he has to take the ball under center. On the other hand his ability to run WR's open is pretty impressive.

Really, neither QB has played all that well. Outside of Mark's one awful int though I wouldn't say he's played badly this preseason. Neither QB is working with a great supporting cast.

If Sanchez can manage to avoid the turnovers this season while becoming a bit more accurate than 2010 he should be fine.

When Tebow comes in during the regular season, he will be in the shotgun. I would expect his completion percentage to improve to it's usual 45-50% range.

It will be higher. He'll be running plays and situations where the run is expected, and the pass is keeping the defense honest. Sort of a "if it's there, throw it" type play.

Plus shorter yardage, so the percentage of pass completion goes up statistically league wide.

Correct...Finally an intelligent post on the matter.

People are getting all worked up, but what we are seeing Tebow run in the Preseason, he'll rarely run in a regular game. You guys do realize Tebow didn't run one read-option play, and rarely took a snap from the shotgun.

Sanchez is light years better running conventional plays from under center, which is why he's the starter...When Tebow comes in, he's not going to be running the plays we've seen in preseason.

If Sanchez goes down and Tebow becomes the full-time QB, you're not going to see the same type of offense...You build the offense based on the strenghts of your personnel, so I don't think it's very likely you would see Tebow doing a whole lot of 3-5-7 step drops.

Sanchez is much better running the base offense, but the only problem I see is that the Jets don't have the offensive personnel to help Sanchez succeed...This is why I think we might see much more Tebow packages than some might expect. It's going to be a large part of their offense, maybe 30-35% of plays some games.

It's not that Tebow is as good of a passer as Sanchez, but with the personnel they have, the Jets might be much more effective running an unconventional offense than a standard one.

Not really. Same WRs. No Santonio and Kerley in the first 2 games meant Tebow played with all the same WRs. He was getting more time in the pocket thats for sure.

Also it really is an eyeball test. Sanchez played well Sunday he had some drops and his interception is 100% not his fault if anyone argues otherwise it just shows you are blindly against Sanchez. Tebow's pick on the other hand the defender didn't even move. He just launched it right into his chest. He made some great throws but he made even more bad ones and he doesn't just miss by a bit he misses by an absurd amount.

Tebow holds on to the ball too long and takes too long to get rid of it.

That said I was one of the few people here who were here before all the Tebow fans who supported the trade. I love what he brings to the team. He is a punishing runner who is sneaky quick and agile. He can throw a good deep pass and is the prototype for running a wildcat offense. I think he will help our offense this year for sure just not as a starting QB.

He does things very well but he doesn't do the things that a QB needs to do well.

I think it's the total production, I think Sanchez should start most definitely but Sanchez has done little to separate himself from a fullback that can't throw ( using other people's description ) . The fullback that can't how has more combined yards and first downs ( in the exact same amount of drives , actually in one less drive if you count the kneel) same amount of points generated and same amount of turnovers .

Yes Sanchez is better because he throws prettier spirals but not on the stat sheet, or points on the score , board or yards or turnovers .

You guys are delusional. Tebow is a terrible QB. In the same Divisional round on the road against the Patriots one of those two QBs outperformed Tom Brady and one got slaughtered. Can you tell me which was which?

Sanchez is just a better QB than Tebow. Come back to reality please.

Yes Sanchez looks better and also Sanchez has less total yards, less first downs , same points, same turnovers , he looks prettier thowing spirals and looks good in the sideline interviews though

Anybody know the sack number for each guy?

The point of my thread is that neither is doing much and the pressure is mounting on Tony " fist pump" Sporano

    The results suggest otherwise.

Tebow would have more points if he didn't bounce pass the football to Hill. He SUCKS!

So thats a no you haven't watched them play. Sanchez played very well last sunday. He had 1 int and so did Tebow but the difference is Sanchez bounced a ball off his rookie receivers chest while Tebow hit the defender in the chest. Sanchez moved the ball well but predictable play calling with forcing the ball up the middle stalled drives as well as penalties and dropped passes.

Laugh all you want but in the same amount of drives ( actually Tebow has one drive less because of the kneel) Tebow has more total yards .

I am glad you have no concern about Sporano's offense , I am sure they will just " turn it on" against Buffalo

You guys bring up PRESEASON as if that's what really matters.

Why not compare them in the most crucial of situations. In the same position in the playoffs:

    • 2nd Season for each QB
    • Divisional Round
    • at New England
Mark Sanchez out performed Tom Brady and Tim Tebow got annihilated

Sanchez looks on right now. He's getting the ball out on time, in rhythm and accurately. I do believe that the offense will get going in the regular season. They will have all the receivers healthy and ready to go. We have just solved the main issue on the OL. And they will be game planning against the Bills instead of just throwing plays out there.
