Ok, so answer then... why are you such an ardent Tebow hater? There are many guys whose skills are questioned in professional sports. Why do you feel compelled to come in here and bash him? Do you go into forums on every team and bash every player that you think is not as good as other people think?

    I doubt it.

That is the point. You feel the need to bash Tebow.

Phaytal do you EVER get anything right? seriously? even by the sheer chance of math you would figure that just ONCE you would get something right.

The Tebowmania forum was created immediately after the trade, there was absolutely no issue with any post (and registration was even shut down while they set it up!), I know I was a member here 5-6 months before the trade . The fact is there are only about 12 COUNT THEM 12 Tebow fans on these boards posting with any regularity (if that many) is not any sort of issue. AND THESE FANS ALL say the same thing (generally) Tebow has upside, he can help win games, Sanchez is and should be the starter etc. etc. etc. etc.

the cult fanatic thing is a joke and a lie.

The supposed Cult of Tebow is the Pegasus Unicorn of the NFL. Doesn't exist.

Where are all these fervent fans? Where are all the crazies? The standard for being a crazy, Sanchez hating, religiously zealous Tebow-lover is saying something as preposterous as, "I think Tebow will get better and be a good starting QB someday." That's it! That's all it takes to be labeled a Tebot.

The two GIFs that phaytal loves the most are both throws while moving, off the left foot. I think it's got to be impossible for a left-hander to throw off of his left foot. I just don't think it can be done. He's got to practice switching that up -- if you're going to do that throwing style where you keep stepping on the move, I think you've got to throw off the opposite foot.

So, some optimism in correcting those two over-blasted throws. I can't even throw a pencil off the same foot as the throwing arm.

It's a back foot throw that QBs make all the time. Most QBs are right handed of course, so it's off their right foot.

personally, I think the overthrow is due to new mechanics, that he just hasn't practiced all the throws enough to have them all down.

Bro, you know I'm a big Tebow fan, but an NFL QB has to either A) be able to make that throw, or B) know that he shouldn't make that throw.

I think it was a short enough pass that he should be able to make that throw left-footed. If he was gunning it 50 yards, then I'd agree with you.

Okay, I was wondering. It seems like he should throw it off his right foot while moving, that he threw it wrong.

But if you say he did it right, I guess he just rifled it high.

I agree 100%. I'm just speculating that what he did wrong was his footwork. It seems like one or the other foot would be the correct foot. I found it hard to believe it's just "Go with either foot, just whatever, however they happen to be."

I can make that throw (without NFL pass rushers running at my face).

The Gators play at Texas A&M this weekend, should be a good game (as long as our soph qb plays well)

As far as the Bills @Jets, I think the Jets can win this. Buffalo has gotten themselves hyped beyond belief with a couple good Dlinemen. I don't think that's going to put them in a position to overtake the Jets in the AFC East though. Howard has the physical tools to "handle" Mario, the question remains that he has to prove that he can. Mangold and Co. should handle the other guys just fine.

Jets 21-13 (with Revis scoring on a pick 6, Thank Fitz for trying to shove it into Stevie's hand when he shouldn't)

Was that ok? Just because a few of us are fans of Tim's from Saturdays doesn't mean we are clueless on Sunday.

So it's off the same foot as the throwing arm, is that what works best when moving laterally? Or do you switch it up and it makes no difference?

I'd kind of like him to stop attempting that throw for the time being, and focus on stopping and setting both feet. But in the meantime it got me wondering if he's even executing the throw in a fundamentally sound way.

Why have we let phaytal posting a stupid gif, drive the conversation...stop giving him the satisfaction! :)

There is no topic, the preseason is over, I don't mind thread drift. The ongoing project that is Tebow's work on his footwork and mechanics are just as good as any topic -- that's what he was working on the preseason.

I'd be embarrassed if I were phaytal to just keep posting gifs. I'm not worried about his satisfaction. I don't think he'll ever truly understand how we perceive him.

Kind of brings up an interesting discussion. There is of course a "right" way when it comes to footwork when passing the ball. Thing is, you don't always have time to do things the "right" way. Pocket might collapse and a defender is in the way of you stepping into a throw. Or a receiver flashes open and you have to throw immediately, with no time to set your feet, what have you.

It's similar to that underthrown ball to Hill in the endzone. On that one, Tebow was cross stepping towards the sideline and threw the ball across his body and off his back foot. There are times where you just have to throw like that. This being the NFL, a QB has to make those throws.

Tebow needs to practice and learn those throws again. He did them down in Florida. He was actually very accurate while passing on the run, either to his left or his right.

In that GIF Tebow had a receiver wide open in the middle of the field too. He has to throw the receiver open. That would have been a big gain.

Ran into this a bit last year. If you look closely, Tebow was pressured, couldn't step forward and went to his left instead, before any of the receivers down field had turned. Given that, he went to the right guy.

Should / could he have waited a split second longer and then hit the guy in the middle ? Possibly. I get the "throwing the receiver open" thing, and yeah, he needs to work on that. But, receiver has to be expecting the ball then as well.

I attribute it to not getting enough reps / playbook knowledge. He can make that throw, and has done it many times.
