Whatever, they weren't gonna keep him and his stupid fans once they got Manning. Still shows what the league thinks of him if the best they could get was a 4th/6th or 7th.
He was projected as a 3rd or 4th round pick before the draft , so now we are holding it against him he went in the first? ......got it , just trying to keep up with all the negative comments said about him, it can be exhausting ....
the reason for 98% of the negativity comes from when people watch Tebow and sucks it for the most of the game and Tebow freaks have 8,000 excuses. They all sound alike the excuses are all the same the same. Don't believe what you are seeing with your own eyes believe me as I change criteria to make Tebow look good. Tebow looked so bad this preseason the topics all of sudden change to the pocket passing myth. What myth about pocket passing? People act like the spread offense was invented with Tebow guess what it was not it just went out of favor in the 60's. I can guarantee you some college will run the wishbone again and win a national championship and these same people will calling for it in the NFL. Stop with all the Tebow is magic bullshit and the rest of it and the negativity will stop. Jets fan judge players on what they today not what they did last year not what they did in college but what they did in the last game. Sanchez will revered one back and bashed the next if he sucked just they way it is in NY. Tebow plays well he will get his props he sucks he will hear it no matter what spin the Tebow crowd puts on it. Tebow sucked in the last preseason game and most of preseason. He will have to play better hopefully he plays better in his role. I will not allow the Tebow is magic BS slide without a good ribbing. Judge the kid on his performance not some magic he has or had. The way Denver (not Tebow) won games last year is just not sustainable it is not debatable it is just facts.
Regardless of what Denver did with its 6th for a 7th swap, Tebow's market value is a 4th round pick. That pathetic status has already slipped based on his sad preseason performance. The Jets will be lucky to get anything for him by years end. He will most likely be cut outright. But hey, at least the Tebots can watch him protect the punter all season.
Did you ever see my response to your question here? http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=73809&page=7 Just curious
Is this the Tebowmania subforum or the TebowPHOBIA subforum? For the most part I enjoy reading about my new team, and I'm glad that we were welcomed to this board at all. But I'm not sure that I understand how the board works. Help me understand. I thought that Tebow threads are only allowed to be posted on the Tebowmania subforum, and that any Tebow thread posted on the main forum will be moved here. That's fine, I can deal with that. But I keep finding Tebowphobiacs in here baiting and arguing with the new fans about the most faintest of Tebow praise. The stats at the beginning of this thread were not bashing Sanchez at all. And if having us as new fans bothers folks so much, why do they bother coming here where the "maniacs" are at all? I keep hearing we aren't "real" Jets fans just because we can't date our fancestry back to the freaking Mayflower or something. Do ya think any USC alumni and fans became Jets fans when Sanchez signed? I bet they did, and this is no different. Having more fans is good for any team. One of the posters in this thread even complained that Sanchez wasn't getting props or equal time in this thread - this thread that's in the TEBOWMANIA section where it's supposed to be. Sanchez can be mentioned in the main Jets forum, but Tebow can't, so gimme a break. And another poster said that Tebow fans are like "Nazis". Maybe the Tebowmania subforum is like a Nazi concentration camp where new Jets fans get gassed by all this hot air or crapped on by dive-bombing crows. What do you think? I don't mean to sound ungrateful, it's simply that I keep finding it extremely weird if one person says, for example, that a receiver should have caught Tebow's pass, and then 5 veteran Gangreen posters insist that the person who posted is wrong because Tebow should have thrown the past softer or harder or prettier or whatever. It's hard not to try and defend Tebow when even the most innocuous of statements is blown up like this one was. Yet here I still am, reading the posts and trying to get to know my new team. Welcome to the Jets, Suzy.
Yeah, it's quite frustrating here at times. You are can't post anything positive about Tebow without it being interpreted as you saying that he is already a Hall of Fame QB who has 5 superbowl rings in 2 years and a pre-season. And you are correct that any positive mention of Tebow is considered a slap in the face to Sanchez. Then you have the posters who say that Tebow never could throw, can't throw now, and will never be able to throw. The moment you compare his college stats or NFL stats to any other player to show that he was A) not a run first QB in college and one of the best passers of all time in the NCAA, or B) that his comp. pct. is comparable to other great QBs early in their careers, you are all of a sudden saying he will be as good as them and mirror their success. It's bizarre that people who hate Tebow spend day and night in the quarantined Tebowmania section, then complain that we talk about Tebow. Even more confusing is that they claim to be Jets fans, yet bash their own player and are disgusted that anyone is a fan of his NFL winning record, NFL playoff game winning ass.
That's pretty much how it's always worked. There's this myth that Tebow has a cult who insists he's the greatest of all time, and will not stand for anyone giving the slightest criticism. The reality is the other way around. The supposed "cult" typically posts things like they think he's good, will be a good player, can play quarterback in the NFL, or compares him to some other player. The people that overreact are the ones that insist he's not an NFL QB, that he's on his way out of the league, etc. They're entitled to their opinion, and they may be right. But it gets old watching them post so vehemently, so stridently, and then turn around and act like they're all casual and it's the Tebow fans who are nuts.
Pretty much nailed it. The only cult following are from the haters... and many are haters for reasons outside of football. I've yet to see a Tebow supporter bring up religion in any context (outside of what I'm doing right now ) yet you can't get past a few posts from guys like phaytal without him bringing up religion as a means to bash Tebow and/or his fans.
This part of the forum was created because we couldn't have a meaningful conversation about our favorite TEAM's new backup QB without you guys derailing it by defending every single thing about him! It got so every single thread ended with his pop warner statistics, high school statistics, college statistics, cherry picked NFL statistics, how many times he's been doubted, how he magically inspires his team, etc. Every time people questioned his abilities or even just the acquisition, there was an annoying gang of followers who really didnt give a crap about the New York Jets football team, rather just felt the need to defend Tebow against even the faintest of criticisms to no end with these stupid arguments. Beating a dead horse into the ground. The subforum was created so you guys can have your circle jerk and everybody else can discuss their favorite football team. Very often people come in here just to mess with you and point out your ridiculous statements and they are labeled "haters"
It was created immediately after the trade. There was no "cause and effect," it was a preemptive strike. That doesn't mean it was a bad idea or a good idea, just that you can't really portray the subforum as a result of a valiant but unsuccesful attempt to have "meaningful conversations." This is a fantasy that occurred only in your head. The Tebow subforum was created almost immediately after the trade.
It was created in the days shortly after the trade. But - make no mistake it was created because of exactly what I was saying. Otherwise this "subforum" wouldnt have existed and surely wouldnt still exist today. Should there be a subforum for Chaz Schilens?? Schilensmania? Another Jets offseason pickup that will be a backup? - No, because we don't have to hear about what he's done in high school and college, how he's been doubted in his career and rose up to challenges, etc. Also we can question his ability to play WR in the NFL and not have to hear countless reasons why you think he can or be called haters. I don't know who the Gators play this weekend but The New York Jets are playing the Bills sunday. How do you guys think the O-line will hold up against the Bills pass rush? DO you even care?
Bullshit. It was created at least a week after the trade, because the Tebow faithful infested every single thread with idiotic rhetoric. The mods created this sub-forum because you were unbearable. BrowningNagle is exactly right.
Well, I suppose it's not worth splitting hairs finely, but as I recall it was not a week. But my memory isn't perfect. They said they consulted the Denver board, and were attempting to head off a problem before it occurred. They didn't say "this has gotten so bad, we have to create a forum." They presented it as a preemptive move. The point is not to complain about the decision, the point is that it was not a "cause and effect" decision based on supposedly outrageous posting conduct by Tebow fans here.
Who sounds more extreme right now? You or us? BTW, I wasn't a member when he first got traded, but if the other guys who are here now are the same ones who were here in March, I don't believe you. The Tebow fans in this sub-forum are very reasonable. It is the doubters who come in here and openly admit that they are only here to instigate. Some are FSU or Miami alums who just hate Tebow for that reason. Some hate his religious position. Some seem to be jealous that their favorite player doesn't get as much media coverage. Some are USC alums/fans who are scared to death that Sanchez is going to get canned in favor of Tebow. Some say they hate Tebow because they hate his fans (which is ridiculous). Whatever their reasons for hating him are, most have nothing to do with football. People may not think he can throw, but it gets escalated to hate for other non-football reasons.
Have I heard this before? Oh yea - EVERY SINGLE TEBOW THREAD. Do you save yourself key strokes and just keep a file with this nonsense handy to copy and paste?
Tebow was traded March 20th. The first post in this forum, the sticky thread at the top of the Tebowmania main page, was composed on March 27th.
