Im not sure if kellen moore has been brought up, but if he was 3 inches taller he would have been a first round pick. The height thing isn't bothering Seattle's new qb too much.

Matt Moore and Jason Campbell will both be FA's and both could probably come in here on the cheap and beat out Sanchez for the job in 2013, that is if Rex Ryan, Mike Tannenbaum and Woody Johnson feel the need to keep Sanchez on the roster for the 2013 season due to the contract extension they foolishly gave him two weeks before acquiring Tim Tebow.

    Sanchez For Rivers

Would you make this QB change? You get Sanchez out of NYC where he is partying too much and not focused. Get him back out to California and far away from my team. Rivers is gone flat in San Diego. Still can fling the ball down field. Give him a good running back and with Keller it could be a rebirth.

Why if your San Diego do you make this deal? Philip Rivers is not part of the problem in San Diego. He's part of the solution.

I don't know if you've watched him this year, but he is just flinging balls up for grabs constantly.

He IS definitely part of the problem there. You don't blow 20+ point leads in the 2nd half without the QB turning the ball over quickly and often. He had 4 ints and 2 fumbles in the 2nd half of the Broncos game to help blow a 24-0 lead.

He's thrown 9 picks so far and has 6 fumbles.

He couldn't generate 1 TD against the Browns.

He acts like a tool on the field most of the time. Only Cutler is a bigger one.

Would not want this guy leading my team.

Rivers had one poor game, and obviously that was the Denver game. He's getting horrible protection and the Cleveland game you can throw out the window due to the weather. As far as acting like a tool, I'm fine with that. He has fire, he has passion, he actually gives a rats ass, as does Cutler. He's still a Top 10 QB in this league.

Michael Vick in my opinion has had one 8 game stretch in his entire NFL career where he looked like the player everyone has made him out to be and that was during the 2010 season after he came in for Kolb. Before and after that he has looked mediocre at best.

He had the ability to run in Atlanta which helped make up for his deficiencies with throwing the football and now he's getting older and doesnt have the burst he once had and is turnover prone. Plus he can never stay healthy. Pass.

I think the only option that makes sense is stick with Sanchez for this year and retool in the off season. If they see a guy they really like in the draft then draft him and sit him for a year and then make a decision after next season or if Sanchez continues to suck throw that drafted QB into the fire sometime during the season next year.

There is no great option at QB not on the roster outside of scoring in the draft with a college QB. Whose out there? Vick? No thanks, Flynn? ehhh I dont see why we would go that route. It's Sanchez or blow the whole thing up and draft a new QB in my opinion.

San Diego is a bigger joke than we are. No way do we take Rivers over Sanchez.

This would be the best case scenario for us outside of drafting a QB. I'd love to get Phillip Rivers on this team, it might just be over for him in SD. I doubt something like this would ever happen though.

Rivers is far more talented, but that dude makes far too many more mistakes - I think he wants out of San Diego, because that ship is crashing. That said I would still take Rivers over Sanchez. Maybe bring Norv with him as an OC and bring back Jerricho Cotchery!

This is why I'm not calling for his ousting. I know, he's not playing consistently well, or even good. I'd be a fool to ignore that. As I've said, if there is a change I'd almost rather see McElroy (sp?) because their offense is a bit too traditional to just throw Tebow in there. It's well documented the issues the Jets have running the ball. I'm not so sure how much a Tebow-led offense would see success here. And as for the draft, that means waiting yet again for someone to develop. Our best option is the current one. Sanchez needs to grow and grow now. His presence has been a constant here and that cannot be overlooked. The guy shows up every game in spite of being on his back a lot with defensive ends all over him. His time is running out though.

I would rather wait and just lose with sanchez ...He is not a sick beast QB that REX/TANNY thought he was...I would rather tank and draft another QB.. This time get it right..

Philip Rivers is far superior in every possible facet of being a QB than Sanchez. I would take him if at all possible.

thats all well and good, but if your problem is turnovers, why in the world would you want to bring in sanchez, who led the NFL in turnovers last season? not to meniton brining in marks awful contract

    Flacco comes to mind.

also, why would you want to bring in a top WR instead of a better QB? if that WR gets hurt or is shut down you are screwed. But with a better QB you dont need great WR's.

Alex smith was never really that bad. the 2 seasons before harbough Smith was pretty solid. over 60% as a passer, over 81 QB rating and rarely turned it over. he was a solid game manager...

he was nothing like sanchez. sanchez has been a low 50's % passer, and has led the NFL in turnovers. YES, smith has gotten better under a good coach, btu he was terrible to start with. sanchez is.
