If you do that, you might as well give the picks to another team because they will be wasted.

Well look at that....we agree on something.

Teams that draft a QB in the first round and drop huge coin on him overturn hell and earth to make him work out. And if the HC can't make it work, the GM fires him and hires someone who can.

If not for Mo Lewis, the world may very well have never even heard the name Tom Brady.

I really wonder how many franchise QBs are wasting away on scout teams, getting exactly zero 'development'.

Nice contribution Roo. I'm guessing this guy was your inspiration to be a Jets fan?

Developmental QB's are fine especially in our situation if the front office aren't sold on Mariota. You let the two vets (Geno and Fitzpatrick) battle it out while you develop your mid round prospects in hopes that he develops into a serviceable backup QB or he develops into a solid starter.

No, but it's always good to see my fellow countrymen do well in a sport that isn't typical for us.
I follow NY Jets because I am a life long supporter of the Newtown Jets back home. The same logo and all.
On another aussie note, NYJ should have signed Jarryd Hayne as a potential running back. You watch his career as a RB if the 49ers give him a chance.
