This is a terrible argument. Baseball is much more of an individual sport. Football's the ultimate team sport. So you can pretty much write off that argument. By the way, I'm a Mets fan and even I realize that saying there are 20 better SS and 100 better hitters than Jeter is flat out ignorant.
i dont want to derail this thread but there is nothing ignorant about what was said about jeter. he is a terrible shortstop att his point in his career (and was terribly overrated as a defender for most of his career). maybe 100 better hitters is a bit of an exaggeration but not by much.
Hobbes I'm sorry but if this was real life and I saw you, a fellow Jet fan, displaying this argument and this type of logic and reasoning to a fan of another team, I'd be horribly horribly embarrassed of you.
Yeah, Sanchez isn't better than Rivers. Though Rivers was just picked again. Rivers has been to the AFCCG as often as Mark has.
Yeah maybe. LIke I said, I was just tying to kick start some spirited debate. I could have played it safe and listed starting qb's. After today, maybe I should put that new kid Brunell on the list...
Give him time. Of course he's gonna be a little inconsistent at this point in his career. Or blame Schotty's playcalling....
You probably could. Brunell is a career 60% passer over many, many years and can only put up 50% with Schotty calling the game...
Then I'll throw out one more post on this and tell you to PM me 20 better shortstops. Say what you want, but while Jeter had a bad season, there are NOT 100 better hitters and especially not 20 better shortstops. It was an awfully wrong post by a poster trying to make a just as ridiculous claim. Just my opinion, but really, it shouldn't even be labeled an opinion.
Dude that's an absolute joke. Henne has tanked I'll admit he's done in Miami after today, but theres no way you can out that list out and consider it to be taken seriously. Sanchez is managing a team fairly well, but he's not even sniffing the league of rivers or even schaub. He's not even performing at a matt Ryan or jay cutler level yet. Brady Manning Brees Rothelisbergeregeregerereger Rivers Michael Vick Romo (Yes, Romo) Aaron Rodgers Eli Manning Matt Ryan Matt Schaub Joe Flacco Jay Cutler Matt Stafford Matt Cassell Kyle Orton David Garrard Josh Freeman Sam Bradford ALL QB's who are better than Sanchez. There's others that haven't been listed that many would take over Sanchez talent-wise but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Fans of 31 out of 32 NFL teams will take that list before they'd take Sanchez. Sanchez is bottom half probably bottom 3rd in the NFL. He's playing horrible, but a luminary he's not.
Are your fucking kidding me? Most of those are about the same level as Sanchez right now. I can see placing Bradford above Sanchez but it's not like he is vastly superior to Sanchez either.
Biased much? Dude, are your brains in your ass? Do you even look at statistics? Oh, and I really love how you assume that fans of the other 31 other teams would take every one of the QBs on your assinine list before Sanchez. You must be a fucking clairvoyant. Now, I'm not going to point out the idiocy in every single instance where you're wrong regarding your list, but I will make a few points. 1. Sanchez has been in the NFL TWO years. He's been to the playoffs in BOTH OF THEM. 2. Romo just plain old sucks donkey balls. 3. DAVID FUCKING GARRARD!!! BUAHAHAHA!!! 4. Stafford, huh...you mean the guy who can't take a hit? The guy that can't go three quarters without separating a shoulder? Yeah, he's awesome. 5. You mean the same Kyle Orton that got benched for Tim Teboe? That Kyle Orton? 6. I'm sure that Giants fans would love to trade in Eli's league leading 26 INTs for Sanchez's 13. Dipshit. 7. Matt Schaub? MATT SCHAUB! Yeah, he's been really successful. With how utterly ridiculous that list was, I'm surprised you didn't put Henne in there.
Ha, man I can't believe how biased this board is sometimes. This is why every team's fan base needs a reality check. If you don't think Romo, Schaub, and Eli are all better than Sanchez, then you've never seen a game other than the Jets. I can understand the other arguments, but I still disagree with most of them (I'll take Sanchez over Stafford and Orton but that's it out of those). If you watch the games, you'd know that Sanchez should have as many INTs as Eli does if you look at how many INTs were dropped for Sanchez and how many dropped balls by the Giants receivers were tipped in the air for easy picks. It's these opinions of Sanchez that helps in giving Jets fans a bad name around the league. You should all realize that while he has improved, he is still definitely one of the weakest links on this team. Everyone's overrating of Sanchez makes our fan base look dumb. I'm just saying, he's not that good. Maybe he will be, but don't pretend like he is now. He'll have a great game from time to time, but c'mon guys. This is getting ridiculous.
