See how the kid can play in an NFL game. You have to base a draft on whether you have NFL caliber QBs on the roster or not. Not going to find that out in practice and film study. There is enough talent for a QB to be successful on the jets. Running a slant, hook, out, curl...that does not require elite talent. A 5 step pattern is pretty straight forward. Holmes has mad a career of the quick slant. Kerley is going to be back and he can also run clean routes.
Holmes made a career out of one catch in the SB. Kerley is the only guy who can run clean routes on the Jets right now and he is likely not going to be 100% until next year. This team needs to put in extra blockers to match up with a loaded box and run the ball. We will have an occasional opportunity to hit WR on loaded up D's but that's it. Most of our WR's and TE's shouldn't be on the field.
Everyone thinks Simms is the solution. sadly he is far from it. this offense SUX there is ZERO talent on that side of the ball. ZERO lol. full of washed up scrubs from practice squads. oh and some money hungry washed up WR who got his money and could care less about the TEAM
Geno gets at least one more year, we're not in win now mode and come back to earth, so let's have a good offseason and improve on offense everywhere, get rid of holmes , Sanchez and draft wr, cb, wr Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4
If Smith doesn't want the field the Jets aren't going to give it to him. He obviously did not want the field today because he was playing like he was tranquilized. I'm guessing the Jets look at who has a real light in their eyes in practice this week and let that guy play some with the football next week. If things look terrible in the first half we get a switch again. Maybe Smith replacing Simms this time.
