No thread on this suprising! Why is Jalin Marshall still on this team. My god cutting Thompkins over this guy was such a dumb move. My god I would rather have Ross back too.
You know I firmly believe that it's our turn next, it seems the East operates in turns, we dominated for two brief years in the AFL years, then the Dolphins, then the Bills, now the Patriots and now our turn is upon us.
Time for a thread bump. We were outplayed in all three phases of the game. Hopefully there won't be as many rant threads as last week.
I'm gonna be stepping away for likely the rest of this season...maybe onward. It took 30+ years & alot of eye rolling toward the dark siders..but they've been right all along. Shit stinks from the top down...and the heap of crap not only followed this team from Hofstra to Florham park..but it's gotten even more vile. I'll credit Woody for throwing lucrative dough at the Jets brand..increasing the overall financial value, giving us top notch facilities & somehow persuading big names to actually want to come here as free agents. I also think the medical Dept has come a long way.But it stops there. I'm sick & tired of the false bravado. Stop pretending we're this proud successful organization & take a few minutes to let the repeated failure sink in. They're always so desperate to drop the losing persona in the public eye..before they even figure out why the losing has happened in the first place. "We went 4-12 last year..eh BUT....We signed ____ & drafted ___..Bigger faster.Greener...Buy your season tickets today!". And that's what it boils down to.Selling tickets.Woody..wants to win..but not at the sacrifice of back page headlines or again...false bravado. He wants his cake & eat it to. He wants "the easy right"...well the easy right doesn't work in this sport. I blame the fans partially for this too. we're the ones who create the hysteria in social media & often force the front office's hand. And don't think being tenants w/ no home of our own doesn't play a part in all this. We had our chance at a stadium of our own. But fans put their own self interest and location above the greater good. Certainly there were political factors at play...but make no mistake...Staten Island fans bitched, Long Island fans bitched, West side fans bitched, jersey fans bitched...everybody prioritized easy transportation & drinking Keystone light out of their trunks over the greater good; The only thing that was really important: A home of our own to establish a true identity.Nice work Jet nation. Identity is the key here. Identity in football means people knowing their roles. It means conviction to assert your will.It means knowing where to turn in a tough market when the chips are down. Sounds simple & fixable. But look at our sorry excuse for a team shield. No QB in a sport DRIVEN by it..where quite often the pulse of the team resides behind center,No home of our own for fans & the team to grow together & no home grown players who know what it means to be a Jet. Just a bunch of money hungry selfish mercenaries. All this considered...is it really such a shock the on field product has looked exactly the same for 20 years? What exactly DOES it mean to be a Jet? What does our team shield stand for? Forget it...I don't even wanna know the answer to that. Sell the team woody. And whatever wall street schmo is unfortunate enough to purchase the team...better recognize right away where the issues lie. A new stadium,a competent QB...and an infrastructure that projects a winning identity. I'm not holding my breath. Gotta sell those luxury seats & get those celeb sideline shots
Time to bench Fitz I'm on the bandwagon see what we have for next year this year is pretty much over Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk
The season is NOT over...the schedule gets much easier after next week...that being said, Its not that we're losing..it's that we're making the same mistakes every week..it's that mistakes are not being corrected...it's that we're not changing up anything..it's that there is definitely cause to worry about the coaching...it's that Fitz has definitely regressed...it's that the injuries are piling up (Mangold today?)... there is no cause was optimism.
Cmon honestly speak we'll Prob lose next 2 and end up 1 - 6 u honestly see us winning 9 straight with bowels handicapping us every week Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk
The point of my thread is not that w're going to win 9 in a row...the point of my thread is that there is no cause for optimism
You really see us beating anyone other than the Dolphins maybe once, the 49ers, and maybe the Rams? EDIT: Maybe we can beat the Browns.
First of all, do you deny that the schedule gets easier, at least on paper? I don't know about you, but I've seen enough games to know that putting a few wins together back to back changes attitudes. But that wasn't my point. Before the season, you had to realize that 1-4 at this point was a real possibility. If we had played even marginally better in our last three games, the losses might be more easier to take. The point was, there is no reason to be optimistic.
Agreed. 1-4 was a possibility but just seeing the way it actually happened, throws optimism out entirely
