Marshall may not have been 100%, didn't seem like he got separation like he usually does. Revis sucked but it looked like he got hurt in some fashion too, they just never really said what it was. No excuses for Pryor. That being said is there no backup plan for injuries by this team? Marshall and Decker probably not 100%? Fine let's not run the ball as much and let Fitz randomly throw wobblers into double and triple coverages because that is sure to work. Realistically if they're not 100% they'd have been better off trying to continue to pound it and let the perceived threats of Marshall and Decker open up Enumwa for short screens.
They said Revis got poked in the eye, he was fine 10 minutes later...well as fine as Revis can be these days and I still think he looks fat.
Ahh OK, I didn't hear what happened, I thought they were giving him the concussion protocol when he was on the sideline.
Marshall should not have played yesterday. He was hurting the team. I appreciate guys playing hurt but when you are so injured you can't play you are a liability and should sit for someone else. The play where he signals over to the QB - "hey I'm hurt so I'm just gonna stand here this play - look for someone else" that is being a bad teammate. Come out of the game if you can't play don't make your team play 10 on 11.
They ran the ball. Forte between the guards 10-15 times at least. Because that's a strength of his. They also ran what looked like a record number of screen passes, even though the Chiefs seemed to be waiting for it every single time. Gotta love that tenacity.
For comparison sake, when was the last time a coach pulled his QB due to poor play, with the game still in reach? I'm sure it's happened, but I don't recall it. I'm not gonna kill Bowles for not pulling him, but I also wouldn't have minded. After the fourth pick, I probably would have as well. But as pathetic as it was, we were still in the game. Fitz said post game he knows how to bounce back. Well, he fucking better. Because as terrible as this game was, it's only one game. If they can beat Seattle next week, then one of Pittsburgh/Arizona, they'll be 3-3 and in pretty good shape. Tall task, but I've always been an optimist lol. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
Had to attend a friend's birthday party yesterday at game time. He's not a football fan, so I feel fortunate to have missed this game. Probably should just delete the recording and save myself some agita.
The HC should be paying attention and make the decision for him as to whether he's on the field or not. Marshall shouldn't have played. Anderson should have played a lot more.
Of course Fitz knows how to bounce back after a terrible game. He's had a whole career's worth or experience and practice at it!!!! Yes, it was only one game, but how many times do the Jets get to use that excuse? Those of us who have been long time fans have seen tons of those types of games. In this season alone, we could easily be 3-0 or at least 2-1 instead of 1-2. It's always something with this damned team.
Home game next week. The coaching staff will stick with Fitz for the time being. They think he is the best option. Bowles is steady. He will not over react like we fans. If Fitz continues to turn it over they will make a change but his history says he will bounce back and be okay. We'll see.
3-3 or 4-4 is what we all said when looking at the schedule before the season. It just sucks seeing how poor these other teams have been and how we haven't capitalized
Exactly, i didnt expect to run away with this. Were all very similar teams in terms of talent level. It was always gonna be a dog fight. So im not even mad. I figured wed have a few stinkers in the beginning. Id rather peak later. Sent from my SM-N930V using Tapatalk
The Jets have underperformed their talent level. The seasoned veterans are making mistakes and losing games. The coaching and schemes have been garbage. They should have beat the Bengals at home, the Bills game shouldn't have been close and their performance against the Chiefs was a laughingstock. I am disappointed in Bowles and Gailey. I think like the Yankees, if they only have a slim chance for playoffs at midseason, the Jets should have a youth movement. Start Petty, get Robbie Anderson some game time (nice first catch of the season kid.) get Lee and Burris starting. See what you have on your roster.
We need to draft a MLB in the first round if theres no qb available worth drafting. Harris is on his last legs Sent from my SM-N930V using Tapatalk
While I do agree with this sentiment about a "youth movement", if we are 4-4 half way thru the season we have some easier games coming up vs the gauntlet we are enduring right now.
Yup, yesterdays loss was the sort of loss where you seriously question why you ever expect anything different from this team year in and year out. Or why you should waste anymore time on them at all. I know this will pass and by Friday I'll be ready for football again, but yesterday was an particularly soul sucking affair that puts anything else this particular team accomplishes, short of winning the SB, into question. My faith that Bowles is going in the right direction and that Fitz "might" be having a Vinny T type of realization in his advanced age has been shelved. So, in short. delete it, then have a nice stiff drink and get the bottle ready for the fun time after this coming Sunday's nuke from orbit.
