So hypothetically speaking, if you were to bring in a player like T.O., or a Darren Sharper, or a Lecharles Bentley, wouldn't the transition to a new regime be a lot smoother while upgrading the team? Do you see my point, players that ARE going to provide results. You knew T.O. was gonna dominate, you knew Sharper was gonna get Int's and provide leadership and stability, we KNOW Lecharles will be the best player on that CLE O-Line and make the pro bowl despite his teams record. The flipside is going after a player like J. Harrington, a big name, probably could turn his career around with the right team, but hasn't produced, or players like Adam Archuleta or Courtney Brown, big names who haven't done squat to warrant big pay-offs, even when healthy.

What good would T.O. do on this team? We still have no QB, Ramsey is not a long term answer. Mediocre RBs, Curtis is slowing down. A shaky defense, a bad O-line. By the time all of that gets fixed up, TO will be past his prime and just eating cap space. Look at the Raiders who went out and traded for Randy Moss. What good did that do? And they're no closer now to fielding a competitve team than they were last year. The big name is not always the answer. When you have to start over, you don't start with high priced veterans. Maybe Bentley would have been a nice move, but that's about it. I don't see any other big names out there that would have brought anything along any faster. You speak of the Browns, what did they do last year, in Crennel's first offseason? They didn't sign anybody. They started with the draft. This year they're making their signings. That's what we need to do. Next year and beyond will be the time for us to make a splash.

Right now, we aren't trying to get over the top.

We are trying to get good.

You don't turn a 4-12 team into a championship team through free agency.

A 4-12 team that some experts pick to go to the SB until all the injuries came.
