Any news on the punting competition since Araiza has come on board? I really hope he wins the competition. The Jets never do a good job managing kicker and punter. It seems like every year they're bringing in another JAG. JD tried to solve it but the guy was way too inconsistent. My feeling is this kid Araiza will have a real chip on his shoulder and he'll be a true weapon at punter this season.
AFAIK, the Jets haven't signed him. They brought him in for a workout, but there has been no news since. I googled him and it appears that he is still a FA.
Might be that the jets made an offer that was refused. Just speculating. Araiza/his agent may be hoping for a guaranteed offer from somebody or more money.
