Why hide him? He is the "cancer" in the locker room. Let him clean up his own mess. I think there is more to it, but I do think Holmes is a pre-madonna.
I'll agree with your "He should not be allowed to talk to the media anymore." The whole team moving forward and putting this behind them is exactly what I want, so reading comments from Holmes does not help. As someone above said, everyone should do there talking on the field. I personally believe the Jets are going to have a good season.
Well I'd like for you to provide a link because you're the only one I've ever heard say it and you've said it more than once.
I don't have a link or anything, but I vaguely remember hearing something of that nature being built-in to his contract. It would be pretty stupid not to have an out clause considering the next ban is for a full season and how Santonio bragged about his 'wake-and-bakes' on twitter. EDIT: All I could turn up with google is forum chatter, nothing official so who knows.
im starting to grow fond of tone. the media is mad at the interview because he didnt give them shit. basically he wasted the time of everybody on the conference call. good. what happened cannot be changed and no matter what he says to the media it doesnt mean shit to anyone he knows personally so why do reporters go out of their way to create controversy? this is such a bullshit article its sickening. holmes didnt say anything wrong.
I haven't been able to find anything either. Maybe it was just talk but I know there was something about it at the time.
The only thing I got out of the interview is yet another example of how the media believes its truly an important part of the football process. Didn't like Holmes referencing himself in the third person though.
This non-story by Mark Cannizzaro was written - like an emotional pouting child who didn't get the toy or candy that he wanted- in this manner because he probably felt like Holmes was a waste of time. That's what I got out if this non-story, and the way it was written.
Hard to believe people are siding with the media on this. There was no need to ask Holmes about any of this. 2011 is over, let it be. The only need to ask is if you want to stir things up to further your own agenda. The way Holmes acts with the media has no relation to how he acts in the locker room. Those are the guys who's respect he needs to win back, not Cannizzaro, Hubbuch or any of the rest of them. The NY Post in particular seems to be working on an anti-Holmes agenda.
I honestly don't care what he says. You do realize he's only trying to get a reaction out of drama queens, right?
Here are some full quotes: “Why should I?” Holmes said on Monday when asked whether he regretted his behavior in Miami. “I gave my statement after the game was over with and that was that. I left it at that. That’s why (the media) didn’t have anything to talk about this offseason. You didn’t have anything to say to Santonio Holmes because I answered the questions correctly and I left it where it was at. It happened down in Miami. And that’s where it’s going to stay. Down in Miami.” “That happened in the 2011-2012 season,” Holmes said on Monday as voluntary workouts began in Florham Park. “That happened in the past. ... We don’t have anything to say on that subject. We’re worried about the 2012 New York Jets football season. And if you’re not concerned with that, we don’t have anything else to talk about.” source: http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/f...s-season-ended-calls-a-blur-article-1.1062468 That link also has the audio from the conference call. From the audio you can tell Tone doesn't want to talk about last season, so he gives short, terse answers to any of those questions. "We are worried about the 2012 New York Jets football team" Tone vs the media, not Tone vs the team. Tone definitely has a beef with the media
