I googled it and got 47 billion. I am near Poughkeepsie, I wonder what Sony is worth closer to the stadium. Anyone near the stadium wanna try it and let me know?
You don't have to pay for xbox live to stream netflix. You can also stream it through your Wii. Everything streams Netflix these days... christ, you can probably stream it through your toaster.
Is it still down? I haven't even bothered to fire up my PS3 in 2 weeks. I returned an unopen copy of SOCOM 4 to Best Buy too, no point in playing SP, which always sucks.
this is ridiculous. i think i'm just going to do what several of my friends have done already and just buy a friggin xbox. i can't believe i sold mine to gamestop like 6 months ago for $120
I can't believe you did that. I called up last night and they offered me the same. I laughed and then hung up...
The following has been posted by the EU PS Blog with regards to PS3 Firmware V3.61: “We have been working on a new PS3 system software update that requires all PSN users to change their password once PlayStation Network is restored. The update (v3.61) is mandatory and will be available soon. If using a PS3, your password can only be changed on your own PS3 (or a PS3 on which your PSN account was activated), as an added layer of security. If you have never downloaded any content using your account on the system, an email will be sent to the registered sign-in ID (email address) associated with your account when you first attempt to sign-in to PSN. This e-mail will contain a link that will enable you to change your password. In this email, click on the link and follow the instructions to change your password. Once you have changed your password you can sign-in to your account using your new password. We strongly recommend that all PSN account holders with PS3s update their systems to prepare for when PlayStation Network is back online. The release of this update is a critical step as we work to make PlayStation Network significantly more secure. Thank you for your continued support and patience.”
We never see press releases on a Saturday night. ...but when Sony said they were working around the clock, they probably meant it. Today, Sony Corporation and Sony Computer Entertainment have announced that Sony Network Entertainment International (SNEI) will begin a phased restoration by region of PlayStation Network and Qriocity Services. This will begin in the Americas, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East. The first phase of the restoration will include the following: • Sign-in for PlayStation®Network and Qriocity services, including the resetting of passwords • Restoration of online game-play across PS3 and PSP • Playback rental video content, if within rental period, of PlayStation Network Video Delivery Service on PS3, PSP and MediaGo • Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity, for current subscribers, on PS3 and PC • Access to 3rd party services such as Netflix, Hulu, Vudu and MLB.tv • 'Friends' category on PS3, including Friends List, Chat Functionality, Trophy Comparison, etc • PlayStation Home Sony has also noted increased security measures "that strengthen safeguards against unauthorized activity, and provide consumers with greater protection of their personal information." This includes "considerable enhancements to the data security," more software monitoring and penetration and vulnerability testing, and higher levels of encryption and additional firewalls. Said Kazuo Hirai, Executive Deputy President of Sony Corporation: "I'd like to send my sincere regret for the inconvenience this incident has caused you, and want to thank you all for the kind patience you've shown as we worked through the restoration process. I can't thank you enough for your patience and support during this time. We know even the most loyal customers have been frustrated by this process and are anxious to use their Sony products and services again. We are taking aggressive action at all levels to address the concerns that were raised by this incident, and are making consumer data protection a full-time, company wide commitment." As another step, Fumiaki Sakai, president of Sony Global Solutions, Inc., has been appointed acting Chief Information Security Officer of SNEI. He will "work to further reinforce overall information security across the company's network infrastructure." As for the return of the Network, Hirai wanted to stress they they "did not rush" to bring it back; they aggressively tested the enhanced security measures beforehand. Finished Hirai: "We want to assure our customers that their personal information is being protected with some of the best security technologies available today, so that everyone can feel comfortable enjoying all that PlayStation Network and Qriocity services have to offer."
