the fact that the non-psls UD are non-transferable makes it a not-so-good deal in the longer term. the giants fans got a better deal. only $1000 psls for UD and are transferable.
So what if they are not transferable since by the time my son will want to transfer the tix to his children they will be building a new stadium which would mean the process will start all over again. Also since the stadium is fitted to be domed I suspect somewhere along the way the partners probably within the next 5/10 years will decide to put a hat on it which would mean another round of PSLs to pay for the doming
I'm sitting with 77 seniority & my 1st name is aaaaa & my last name is aaaaaaaaa so why would I want to change my name?
There's been no instance of a team that charged a PSL fee for seats re-charging a fee xx years later for improvements or a new stadium. This is all just what you think may happen. I don;t think it will.
I think the GBPs charged a PSL for rehabbing the stadium as did the Bears. So if the Jets/Giants present it as a rehabbing project there would be nothing standing in there way not to charge another PSL for the doming. I also quite clearly posted that was MHO of the future motives of Woody & the NYGs concerning the doming of the stadium
I believe the owners have gone on record as saying that they don't want a dome so I don't see this happening. The stadium is expensive enough. I wish it did have a dome though since they would be able to use it for various other events. I can't even imagine what hosting a Super Bowl in this area would be like.
I apologize if this point has been brought up, but would you consider having just two tickets, instead of four? I realize these times are tough, and a lot of people are making sacrifices. But some season ticket holders have reasons for having all of their tickets, so maybe you are all in, or nothing at all. Now, along similar lines, I'm wondering if the Jets are using the assumption that all ticket holders from 1977-1983 renew all of their tickets?? Which I'm sure they are. For example, if Joe Schmo has had 6 tickets in his name since 1977, are they assuming he will renew all 6 in the upper deck? I'm sure given the status of the economy, most will scale down. So lets say he only takes 2 tickets...and a guy who had 4 originally only takes 2 in the new stadium. Using this logic, sec 227 will have to opportunity to get an upper deck seat. I know it all sucks, just looking to make some people on the borderline feel better. I curse my dad to this day for transferring his tickets from 1971 to my neighbor, and then from my neighbor to me. I'll be paying a PSL...just remains to be seen what will be left when my number is called.
What they say & what they do is like apples & oranges When U R as money hungry as the owners appear to be & they realize what a dome would generate they will again use the same route of having the fans pay for it
Tha point is though that the owners believe that the the cost of a dome will not return their initial investment. They have already gone on record saying that it is not a prudent investment for them, so I can't see them doing it in the future.
Here is what I posted So what if they are not transferable since by the time my son will want to transfer the tix to his children they will be building a new stadium which would mean the process will start all over again. Also since the stadium is fitted to be domed I suspect somewhere along the way the partners probably within the next 5/10 years will decide to put a hat on it which would mean another round of PSLs to pay for the doming
Sorry I think U R being most naive. The owners will not be paying for the doming it will be us fans thru another PSL just like it us fans who will be taking the PSL who are now paying for the building of the new stadium
That is an awful lot of assumptions you're making champ, and considering the stadium hasn't even opened yet, that's so many years away anyway from even being a possibility.
I took my packet out the mailbox last night. My seniority date is Feb. 25, 1977. I have no clue whatsoever how, why, or where the Jets came up with that date. Oh, that's right - they made it up. When I fill out my forms, I'm going to write 'You Suck' on there. That's a promise.
I guess we will C as we go along right? IMHO by implementing PSL #2 why not since it would cost the owners nothing to build it since the fans will be paying for it. Just think it opens up a whole new profit center for the owners, increases the value of the stadium thus increasing the owners value & the best part it will not have to cost them a cent since it will be us fans that will wind up paying for it. Sounds to me like a winning deal for them
I believe we would be better off paying the grand and owning the seats. Just seems we will be treated like crap by the Jets... second class citizens. I am glad there is no dome because I like cold weather games. Please tell me why anyone would care if they held the Steelers/Cards Super bowl in East Rutherford? What does that mean for us? I only care about the Jets and if we ever get to the super bowl that would suck having it in East Rutherford. I want to get on a plane and go somewhere warm and away from my family.
