That's what I've done also... there's really nothing else you can do.

But I'll tell you what... all this bullshit sets up a hell of a precedent for the future. The Jets have opened up a hell of a can of worms for themselves. Kinda like going to Bed, Bath and Beyond for an item. My wife won't buy anything in that store anymore unless she gets the 20% off coupon and can use it.

Woody has to be careful how much he discounts to new buyers of tickets, lest he piss off the Upper people badly enough and we all walk out. Of course, I suppose he can cornhole the PSL people all day long and get away with it to make up the difference, which is why I never consdered the PSLs in the first place.

400K PSL Bidder Charged For Fraud
Posted on September 9th, 2009 by Bassett
The man who paid the highest premium for PSLs at the new stadium might not have done it on the up-and-up, according to NBC New York.

A die-hard Jets fan who paid a record $400,000 for rights to two 50-yard-line seats might now be watching the games from federal lockup.
David Findel posted a $1 million bond today after being charged with mortgage fraud. He used the equity on his exclusive Colts Neck, N.J., home to secure the bond, federal officials said ? he was accused of devising a scam to defraud mortgage lenders of millions of dollars.

A federal complaint said he abused his position as the President and CEO of Worldwide Financial Resources by fraudulently obtaining money from lenders through a scheme to ?resell identical residential home mortgages to multiple financial institutions? in New York and New Jersey.

Add in some interesting quotes Findel?s himself made from last October after his bid was awarded.

?I am amazed in the interest since I purchased them ? how many people want to buy them for more than I purchased them for,? he said.

The current economic climate may have been hard on his industry, but Findel said that was all the more reason to buy the seats now, he said.

?Although part of the mortgage business is in turmoil, this is an opportunity to invest in my business ? and to further demonstrate our loyalty to the New York Jets,? he said.

That first quote is classic. Creating a secondary market for something that doesn?t exist? Life often imitates ? business ? in this case.

Yikes. In so many ways, this perfectly encapsulates the problems many average fans have with the new stadium. Longtime devoted middle class fans who have been used to sitting on the 50 yard line for 20 years are being pushed out of the way for this. Now I?m not saying that this is what all auctioners are, but it just seems classic that this would happen. The team wanted big money, and they?ve got it. I just wonder if they care where that big money came from.

Yeah, I saw where that guy just suddenly closed up his business a week or two ago as well. Looked like a cheesy criminal, I'm not surprised.

This is the guy the Jets want at their games (and in their 5-star restaurant), not a guy like me in a faded Keyshawn jersey grilling my own food. Well fuck them, they're probably going to end up getting me anyway, just at a far reduced cost.

I called them about the 20% discount for new 09 buyers.

Those who've had and kept there 09 tickets still get a better deal per ticket then any of these new sales.

What we would pay for a $80.00, they would've been paying $120.00, but now pay $100.00.

The part that pissed me off was the pre-season games. I can't remember the last pre-season game I went to. They should sell those dirt cheap, I can see better competition in the Lingerie Football league.

    20% off Lie

Not true, they mark it up 20% on ticketmaster and then under season ticket holder or plum box you enter code football and they take off the 20%. You could have bought only games you want and got the same PER ticket price as season ticket holders. The only markup is the damm $11 PER ticket ticketmaster fee. Which could add up to a few hundred if you have four seats.

But those codes are for season ticket holders not newbies.

**** Those codes are valid for only certain events as well, and not intended for new sales.

The code changes and it pertains to certain games through each code.

But that does make sense now.

I suspected this guy was a nut job when he paid that price, now I'm convinced of it. Bernie Maddoff needs to take the upper bunk... he's got a new cellmate coming.

    20% off

That is not just a season ticket code. I have Plumbenefits at work that gives codes to all types of broadway shows and stuff, both Mets and Jets have codes there too for discounts, nearly every big company suscribes to Plum as a cheap benefit, that code is everywhere not just for season ticket holders. Plus email I got from Jets said forward it on.

I thought you committed and that you were going in with some friends...? Plus, the per seat ticket price was $120. That beats $700, but it was still an upgrade for you. A horrid downgrade for me.

Our team ownership sukks balls just the same. I almost scribbled out Woody Johnson's face with a Bic pen in the new yearbook. What a jerkoff. I hate him.

yea but then i came to my senses.
    3 tickets x $120 = $360 per game
    $360 x 10 = $3600
plus a $400 PSL fee for 3 seats for 15 years

ticket prices can be increased to any time.

Well, that's a given. I'm seriously considering selling my tix for the year to sit WHERE I BELONG from someone else. I can't tell you how insulted I feel. Woody the c*nt, I hope his lesbo daughter's girlfriend goes even crazier and burns his house down.

Increases are more than a given. I can tell you it's almost a guarantee.

Woody increased my tickets in the past 8 years by 10% per year. This resulted in a doubling of the ticket price in 7.5 years (do the math on your desk calculator). This will accompany the PSLs once in place, no question.

God help the people who sign up for PSLs, for they know not what they wish for:

"For Thine is the PSL Kingdom, and the Power, and the Glory, Forever and Ever.... Amen!"
