oh no, not as a rabid jet fan on a jet message board. wow that really fucking hurts me. all because i called a trade good because of the cap implications? wow, girlfriend, you are a savage. put the claws away chic. are you always so cruel or did you knock back a half a zima to get those big chic balls before posting?
I don't think this trade is going to be anything memorable for either team but the good news may be that Adams or Maye, or possibly both, were impressive enough already in Florham Park to make Pryor expendable.
Well first and foremost I'm an FSU fan and naturally have love for the ACC but as an NCAA football junkie, I've always been in absolute awe over the SEC. The SEC has been a dominant football conference because of it's location. It's able to select the best players and top football prospects from the talented-rich Southeastern (Southern) States. With that said all college teams, football programs, division one schools & NCAA conferences produce NFL bust's but the disparity between the SEC and everybody else is well-documented in the trenches. Do i have proof? I believe so. Joe Namath. Bart Starr. George Blanda. Peyton Manning. Bo Jackson. Hershel Walker. Emmitt Smith. Hines Ward. Jason Witten. Dermontii Dawson. Jack Youngblood. Reggie White. Kevin Greene. Derrick Thomas. Richard Seymour. Patrick Willis. Champ Bailey. There are just too many to name. You can pretty much go on forever with regards to SEC old timers. Eli Manning. Cam Newton. Dak Prescott. Todd Gurley. Julio Jones. Odell Beckham. A.J Green. Amari Cooper. Alshon Jeffery. Jarvis Landry. Maurkice Pouncey. Jason Peters. Laremy Tunsil. Jadeveon Clowney. Greg Hardy. Evan Mathis. Eric Berry. Tyrann Mathieu. Patrick Peterson. Joe Haden. Sheldon Richardson. Geno Atkins. Kyle Williams. Justin Houston. Aldon Smith (ashame). Just to name a few. And those were only a handful of current NFL studs drafted out of the SEC. Myles Garrett, Jamal Adams and Leonard Fournette could be next too. It's tragic but Aaron Hernandez should've been on that list above. Believe me when i say this. There are strong reasons on why as of last year (2016) there was an All-Time NFL best with 362 former SEC players on NFL rosters. The SEC has led the nation's conferences in draft picks for the 10th or 11th consecutive year in a row. In closing i can list off (both historically & currently) a lot more Florida Gators who've made Pro-Bowl's and All-Pro teams along with NFL rings and HOF honors... than i can of former NFL players from Louisville. Some programs produce high end/top of the line NFL talent. Some don't. I'm more excited about the likes of Adams out of LSU & Maye out of Florida than i ever was about Calvin Pryor out of Louisville.
Why are people still answering the LongIslandBlitz kid? Hes an internet troll. He says dumb things to rile people up and get a reaction. He's baiting the same hook over and over in this thread and you're all still biting.
Another thing to take into consideration for the minority that thinks this trade was bad: they shop to Calvin Pryor every day of the draft trying to get something for him. No teams bit. So again I ask, why would the brown give up anything worthwhile for a guy that every other team passed on, has been bad for two out of his three years in the league, is a free agent next offseason and has become somewhat of a locker room issue?
Good riddance on Pryor. I've wanted him off the field since he got here.. Can't cover, can't take angles in run support, and a shit attitude to boot. It amazes me that people are STILL making excuses for this loser, as if the coaches are at fault for asking a 1st round Safety to cover someone. on a side note, I'm not even sure Davis will make the team. This trade was all about getting Pryor out of the locker room.
Very true. Nothing worse than a clique or group of douchebags and/or dumbasses dividing things and bringing the whole thing down.
I know the SEC is the best conference in college football. But when you say you're more excited about Adams and Maye than Pryor because they're SEC and he wasn't, you're implying that SEC players are better than other players given the same draft grade. You can cite all the examples of great SEC players you want, but unless you can point to a study showing SEC players are better when controlling for draft grade, your enthusiasm is misguided.
I just have a thing for SEC kids; especially on defense. I have a question for you (please answer it). How many Louisville players (both historically & currently) have and/or are currentny impacting on an NFL level? Yes. I'm more excited about the prospects of both Jamal Adams (LSU) and Marcus Maye (FL) than i ever was Calvin Pryor out of Louisville. Like Marcus Maye; Calvin Pryor was born and raised in Florida. Calvin Pryor was only a 3 star recruit coming out of Florida High School. Was rated 28th at his position, 180th regional and not rated at all in the state of Florida. So he went to Louisville. Like Calvin Pryor; Marcus Maye was born and raised in Florida. Marcus Maye was a 4 star recruit coming out of Florida High School. Was rated 8th at his position, 68th regional and 28th in the state of Florida. So he selected the Gators. Jamal Adams was also highly rated coming out of H.S. Every top team in Country wanted him. Rated 2nd at his position, 3rd regional and 3rd in state (Texas). Yes. Both of Maye (FL) and Adams (LSU) are better prospects than Calvin Pryor and have been so since coming out of H.S. Hindsight is always 20/20 but if looking for a badass Safety, Idzik should've looked to HaHa Clinton-Dix (Alabama; SEC).
Well for Jets safeties Kerry Rhodes was from Louisville; I'd be thrilled to have him back in his prime. But your question is irrelevant. Pryor wasn't overrated because he went to Louisville; he was overrated because Idzik/Rex fell in love with his hitting and overlooked the fact that Clinton-Dix was a better overall player. Players from SEC schools are more likely to succeed in the NFL than players from other schools, but GMs already factor that into their draft grades. So if one player with a first round grade is from an SEC school and another player with the same grade is from a smaller school, the SEC player isn't more likely to succeed than the other player. Which means if you want to be extra excited about Adams and Maye beyond the fact that they're high picks, you should find a better reason.
trash is only in my eyes? You telling me I'm the only one who thinks our defensive schemes and execution is trash? wow.. show me the good games lmao. B/C clearly I missed em
Maybe I misunderstood. I thought you were talking about general direction of the team, i.e. calls being taken with where Jets go If you meant "trash on the defense" - I'm with you.
oh yeah bro, speaking on the defense that's all.. I'm actually excited about the way the team is looking moving forward.. MikeMac gets my respect.
