I figured Davin probably stay in school. Will anyone be splitting carries with him next season? Meggett just seems a lot more powerful and more versatile. He's also supposed to be a team leader. Torrey Smith will be a prospect that I pay really close attention to next season. He's a special player.
^ Nevermind. Per rotoworld: He's got a lot of competition this year. AJ Green, Julio Jones, Justin Blackmon, Jon Baldwin, and Mike Floyd are all first round talents. Ryan Broyles lacks size, but he's a dangerous receiver. He'll probably go in the second round. Torrey Smith will have to run extremely well to get into the first round. As of right now, it'll be tough for him to jump any of those guys.
Yeah I do not see him being a 1st round talent but whoever gets him as a mid 2nd round pick is getting a steal. They always mentioned that he is one of the best kick returners in the country but he never produced. I am pretty sure its just because our special teams sucks. Its hard gto judge Maryland's talent at skill positions though because we play in this horrible conference called the ACC and all of our opponents outside of the ACC were atrocious.
After his performance tonight, OK State's Justin Blackmon is officially my #2 wideout prospect behind AJ Green. AJ Green will hold the top spot no matter what.
Deunta Williams broke his leg last night. He could be a steal if he falls to the third or fourth round. I really like him as a prospect, even though he didn't play that much this season with the suspension.
Damn with all of these UNC prospects getting screwed. First the suspensions, then Pianalto breaks his leg, Carter tears his ACL, and now Williams. Yates is gonna be the highest Tar Heel player taken at this point.
Floyd's going to butcher the Canes today. To use Perfect Dark terminology, they're covering him with Meat Sims.
hahaha he could have 15 touchdown passes today. Its a total mismatch for the Canes DBs, but it'll be nice to see him put on a clinic. He'll be there in the mid 20s. I'd love to take him if Edwards wants to be paid as a top WR. He'd replace him well.
I think Floyd has an Andre Johnson like skill set, but there were times that I just didn't think he had the focus to be a top player. This game he's focusing awful hard on kicking ass.
Said he is Dwayne Bowe in my eyes....can be absolutely unstoppable for alot of times but I agree with GH every once in a while whether its by fumble or by dropping the ball, he loses focus. Don't think its that bad though. Oh and Floyd has some injury problems.....outside of that though, what your seeing is what he has been since Freshman year. A stud.
There's your losing focus right there for Floyd. Kelly should have taken him off the field and blasted him.
He probably wanted to keep on the play to make him look real good in the bowl game. Wanted a Jones/Greene type of a play this year and failed. Still he has been impressive this game though. He should be the 3rd maybe 4th WR taken in the draft and a team like the Falcons or Patriots(Pray that doesnt happen) will be happy to get him.
I don't think he'll last until the late 20s because I want the Jets to take him if they don't resign Edwards this year. That dropped TD was exactly what we were talking about, and is the reason why he's not cracking the top 20 unless someone reaches for him. He can change games though. He's so pretty when he makes plays.
This is the problem i'm having when deciding on our first round pick. I do believe one of the big-time receiver prospects will be on the board when we pick, and I do think that one of either Braylon or Holmes will be gone. So as a firm believer of taking BPA, especially late in the 1st, do we take Floyd (whom I see as the likely receiver to slip, and would be tremendous value) or go with a DE such as JJ Watt who would represent a slightly less, but similar value, but also at a position with less overall talent in the draft (than WR). It'll be interesting for sure this upcoming offseason.
I'm struggling with it as well. I have ND in my name, so guess what direction I want to go But I do understand that the front 7 is a more pressing need. The other philosophy is that Holmes and Cotch can do well flanked out wide while the Jets draft a WR who is a pure slot player that becomes Sanchez's checkdown buddy. A Jordy Nelson, Stuckey, or poor man's Welker. Someone like that can do wonders for this offense and for Sanchez. Cotch is far from done in his career. Its just an odd, off year for him. With those two out wide, a slot WR who is good for 55 catches on down to go at 6 or less, and a RB that is good out of the backfield like LT (or if McKnight actually does emerge), then the offense can be very effective. If Jeremy Beal is sitting at 25, I want him too. He's a big fucker who can get after the QB and he can play the run.
The guy I've been chirping about all year is having a good game. Alabama Junior OLB Courtney Upshaw now has 5 sacks in his last 6 quarters of play...
Potential later round picks Quinton Coples(UNC) and Mason Foster(Wash) had huge bowl games. May have increased their stock a bit. Should be good to see how J.J Watt and Jeremy Beal play tonight because Jets could be looking at them as their first round pick.
