I am with you, man. I don't have a clue how I'll get there or how much money it'll cost, but that's the one game I'd want to see in person before I head off into the sunset.
I know how you feel. My son's birthday is on 12/14. We play the Bills at home that day. I am a season ticket holder. Do I go to the game? Hell yeah I do. He is having his party on Saturday. I will be home for cake on Sunday. The Jets will win. All is well in the world. I would have recorded the game if I wwere you. Tougher call when you have actual tickets. My son will be 4. Thanks for reminding me to NEVER become his basketball coach.
I think this situation is different especially since his party is the day before. Your son was born 12/14/04? Mine was 12/13/04. A Super Bowl is different. That's when the rules of good parenting get thrown out the window.
He was 1 month early on 12/14/04. I felt he would be born on a playoff game or something like that just for the irony alone. Didn't work out that way. Was born during Monday night football. Game just ended.
I have season tickets but coach soccer in fall. Got to see some games -- missed others. Kids' games come first. DVR. Sometimes had ear piece -- with radio.
My Son was born 2 days "early" from what they predicted. My Wife started having serious contractions during the Pitt game(reg season) and she had our Son early Monday morning.
