It's actually better for the team as a whole if it's players don't make the Pro Bowl. That is a chip that costs lots of money against the cap when contract time comes.

This is a total bunch of bullshit. Why bother voting? The fans should have no say whatsoever in the process.

you can't compare Asomugha's numbers to Revis, Asomugha simply doesn't get the ball thrown his way, he just doesn't allow QB's the opening.

once this is realized, the players who deserve to go will get in,

players, coaches, and writers should vote. The fans can vote and the NFL should lie to them that their vote counts.

If the jets make it to the SB does Favre win his 4th MVP?

The problem with that is the Players, coach's, and writers don't get to see the other players at all unless their team is playing against them. The whole Pro Bowl thing is a load of crap, and I don't think there is a way to fix it to make it fair.

I don't care. I can't remember the last Pro Bowl I watched. If I have ever watched one.

unfortunately they will only take into account what is done in the regular season. But he should be in the running now because of what he has brought to the team. An argument that does hold water is - Has Kris Jenkins been as, or more valuable to the Jets?

Hows TJ doing in the voting? He is having his best statistical season, and is a league leader in yardage and TDs....

You guys complain that fans are terrible at voting, but you guys are no different than them. Most people will vote for the players on their team, their favorite players on other teams, then finally who actually deserves it. No different than guys on here.

Probably. But defensive players never win MVP. It will go to an offensive player, namely a QB or RB.

And yes, going by stats, team wins, and overall impact on team and the NFL Favre definitely deserves to be in the discussion for MVP.

The problem isn't that fans are terrible at voting.. it's that fans have a say in the selection in the first place. Of course everyone votes for their own team.

If I had a ballot, I'd probably only vote for 3 or 4 players from our team. I'd vote Favre after Phillip Rivers, Kris Jenkins after Albert Haynesworth, and Leon.

I'd probably put Revis 3rd after Finnegan and Asomugha. Rhodes would likely get a vote, and definitely over Ed Reed this season. The fact that our pass defense has struggled hurts him, but he's a huge help in run support, which is a big part of why John Lynch went to so many Pro Bowls.

As far as our OL, Mangold and Faneca are strong candidates, but again mostly for the run. I'd have a tough time arguing against anyone off the Tennessee or Denver lines. They have high rushing averages and give up very few sacks.

If that were true, wouldn't major markets dominate year in and year out? The Titans are up there all over the place. People vote for their own teams to an extent, but overall success does have a factor. Name recognition is still probably the highest contributing factor.

Yeah I didn't mean to say people don't vote for big names, just that most also vote for their own team.

Ahahaha... This is why the fans vote should count even LESS than 1/3.

There are so many laughable names or missing names up there, but none worse than Jeff Saturday, who missed half of the season!

    Wow.

Asomugha should be higher, Bailey should be lower and McAlister shouldn't even be on there.

absolutely rediculous. Sounds too much to me like about 15 redskins fans have just decided to devote their lives to making sure their squad gets in the pro-bowl.

sit there and vote, vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote. bathroom break. vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote. answer door for delivery. vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote. 15 minute power nap. vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote

    and repeat....

jesus thats just absolutely nuts, and im almost positive at least a few skins fans must be doing it that way. the skins dont even deserve to send 3 guys, fuck the entire team! Only guy pro-bowl worthy over there is Portis. and maybe Santana Moss.
