Best available offensive lineman. After you get the best o-lineman available, go get another with the next pick. Then again.

we would have to go with a WR or RT/OL in the second if we got a pass rusher in the first..I could also seeing us move up for Sanu if he starts to fall in the second..

Rex has stated the need for a pass rusher. Upshaw is probably the best OLB in the draft, he isn't a polished pass rusher. I can see the Jets taking two early like they took two Dline with the first two picks lasty year.

The Rd 2 pick falls under the hierarchy of needs crossed with availability when the pick is called.

    I would like any of:
    Doug Martin, RB, Boise State
    David Wilson, RB, Virginia Tech
    Alshon Jeffrey, WR, South Carolina
    Stephen Hill, WR, Georgia Tech
    Cordy Glenn, OT/OG, Georgia
    Mike Adams, OT, Ohio State
Ronnell Lewis, OLB, Oklahoma (I like him only because he could end up being either an ILB or OLB, but is more likely to become an OLB).
Nick Perry, OLB, USC (Doubt he falls)
    Andre Branch, OLB, Clemson
    Shea McClellin, OLB, Boise State
    Markelle Martin, FS, Oklahoma State
    Harrison Smith, FS/SS, Notre Dame

Personally I'd wait until Rd 3 to take a FS and hope that Trumaine Johnson, FS/CB, Montana, is available, thereby leaving Rd 2 to draft an OLB, RB, WR, or RT.

I wouldn't be upset about Harrison smith in the second...he might even be off the board .

Glenn would be great in the second....massie might be there in the third though

Rex also probably got a good look at the north Carolina WR who is 6'4 and projected second day

On what planet is Glenn falling to the second?

If he went in the mid 20s hed be considered a major steal

If we don't go o-line in the first... Kelechi Osemele should be a target in the 2nd

The FO has hinted that we won't be going OL in the first 2, probably 3 rounds. Unless someone notable slides on draft day I see us using our first two picks on skill players (pass rush, S, WR)... after that, anything could happen. History suggests that it's easier to find solid linemen in the middle rounds than impact skill players.

This list is perfect. You have to imagine that a few of these guys will be available. I agree with you that round 2 is probably too early for a safety, though. If we draft a LB/DE in round 1, we need to go offense in the 2nd. Martin, Adams, Glenn, or Jeffery in round 2 would be amazing.

Ridiculous. Did they see our o-line kill Sanchez last year? we need to build up trenches before we bring in skill players. If you can't block skill players a fn useless.

Big fan of Martin. He runs low, he has good lean, and he hits his top speed pretty quickly. He's not in that elite Lamar Miller class, but he seems like a very balanced back.

If jeffery falls to us in the 2nd i think it would be hard to pass on him but the safety smith from ND would be a nice grab too

by laxinx57 -- "I know this wont be widely accepted, but I want Doug Martin in the 2nd badly. IMO,
he is the clear #2 back in this draft and could bring this team’s running attack from good to elite.
A backfield of Greene, Martin and McKnight with Tebow would be scary good. He’s the guy I want."

    RB/WR/KR/ST's Chris Rainey 5-8 180
    Combine Numbers: 4.45/40 - 16 Bench - 36" Vert - 10' Broad Jump - 3.93 Shuttle - 6.5 3-Cone.

Combine Report: Rainey continues to impress NFL decision-makers with his athleticism and the ability to handle
several duties on the field. He was the fastest overall running back in attendance, posting a 40 time in the
low 4.4-second area. Rainey later looked fluid, fast and very natural in all areas. He proceeded through the
running drills with great balance and was exceptional catching the ball. Rainey displayed terrific quickness in
all areas of the game. He is getting long looks as a skill player who can line up in the backfield, the slot or as a
special teams player used to return punts and kicks.
    (BSU's Chris Martin's 40 time was 4.53)

Chirs could easily also be the #4 WR, among the many other things that he does well.
At UF, Rainey is thought of as Percy Harvin Lite. No LB can cover him coming out of the backfield.

In a spread/option offense, Chris played in 52 games as a Gator and made 19 starts.
Massive experience (2x BCS-NC) without being 'worn-out' carrying the ball on every single running play.
Longest Run = 76 yds. -- Longest Reception 86 yds. -- Longest KO Return 51 yds.

In the conference with the TOUGHEST defenses in the Nation:
In 2011 Chris was named All-SEC First Team as an All-Purpose Performer.
Career High for carries in a game was 21 against Tenn in 2011.
In that game he also had a career high 104 receiving yards.
He was over 100 yards in both rushing and receiving in the same game.

    Career Stats:

    Rushing 396 for 2,464 yds, 6.2 ypc, 13 TD's (he also had 1 carry for a 2 pt conversion)
    Receiving 69 for 795 yds, 11.5 ypr, 6 TD's

    Punt Returns - 26 for 235 yds, 9.0 ypr, Long 23 yds, 2 TD's.

    KO Returns - 18 for 454 yds, 25.2 ypr, Long 51 yds.

    Total Offense - 3,948 yds, with 21 TD's.

Special Teams - He also holds the UF All Time Career Record with 6 Blocked Kicks.
He got his 6th and last blocked kick in the 2012 Gator Bowl against Ohio State helping to seal the Bowl win.

He finished his rsSr season with 1,451 All Purpose yards.
And Chris was also on UF's National Championship Track Team.

IMOHO, That Oregon RB, even going against weaker LAC 10 defenses, is not the player that Chris Rainey is.

While I doubt that he could be an 'every down' NFL RB, he is so versatile with all that he can do that he would be
worthwhile to any team that already has a big primary RB. (WR/KR/PT/ST's)

If he's still there late in the 2nd or in the 3rd, I'd take him as a pretty good gamble.
If he's still there in the 4th round, he would be an absolute STEAL!

    PS

Bonus - Tebow and Rainey are already familiar with each other.....
Chris also played on the Lakeland Florida HS Team that won B-2-B USA-Today HS NC's.

Stephen Hill if he is still around. We need long speed to help our running game.
