The point I was addressing was an assertion that hte CS did not see Walls play last year. He played in all 16 games. I assume the CS was watching.

I dont really care what a poll today would say. All the FO homers would vote for Walls. But I don't recall much talk in the regular season about how great Walls was playing.

Here we go with the "homers" bullshit again. Basically guys, if you disagree with Big Blocker, you're a homer. Knowing that... do you really want to continue on any kind of convo with him?

If you'd like to have a discussion then at some point you should try addressing the actual points being made. So far it seems to me that you've developed this broad sweeping stereotype of anyone who doesn't disagree with not re-signing cromartie and you're responding to everyone who you have (often incorrectly) categorized as if they share the beliefs of some irrational imaginary profile.

I don't and I have no idea what you're even talking about at this point.

Feel free to address the actual points or just keep rambling on arguing with your imagination. Either way I'm good.

Ftr if Walls turns out to be the starter and plays well, I will be as happy as anyone else here. It just seems to me that the way the off season has gone, the CS was not prepared to rely on him as the starter. I think we can move on here, the arguments having been made.

If you've read any of my posts, you would know I'm the furthest thing from a FO homer. Yet, I was impressed by what I saw from Walls last year. While he was not great by any means, he was serviceable which is markedly better than Cro and, at times, Milliner. Walls showed me enough to where I wouldn't be in a full blown panic if he was our starting CB opposite Milliner this year. You apparently saw something else out both of Cro and Walls.

That is a total bs post. YOU brought up Smith and Reed. I answered the points. How did I not???

YOU are the one who has failed to address my specific points and made sweeping condemnations of my posts. I listed above the reasons why I felt there were good reasons to question how the FO handled the Cb positino so far, and all you want to say is you don't know what i am talking about. Something tells me you don't want to engage in the discussion, so why don't you have a nice day.

Ftr I disagree from time to time with people i think are too pessimistic about the Jets and their management. I would never call those people homers.

    YOu on the other hand...

You still don't get it. When someone disagrees with something that you feel strongly about, your only defense is "well there's no way I'm wrong so if you feel differently then there must be something wrong with you". And that's childish.

the Cardinals are one of the better organizations in the NFL? c'maaaaaaannnnn!!!!

but even accepting that declaration, good organizations aren't exempt from making bad decisions. The Pats brought in Ocho and Haynesworthe, and in the same off season no less.

obviously keeping Cromartie wouldn't have been a disaster for the Jets, but I think there is a sound strategy to wanting to get new guys into the role to see what their long term viability is rather than go another year with a stop gap player that will just need to be replaced anyway.

So, I suppose it would have been better if he pulled a Tanny and traded every pick he could and only wound up with like 6 picks? Get real. The Jets have a TON of needs, and even with 12 picks, are probably not going to be able to adequately address them all. Idzik wants competition. He's added competition, and even if all 12 don't make the roster they may have helped make some of the other players who do make the roster better. He may even be able to trade 1-2 of those players to a team that suffers some injuries during TC for a pick next year or for a player at another position that could help address a Jets need. Those who don't make the team may also hang around on the PS this season, and then become solid depth or even starters next year. Having that many picks also increases/improves the chances of the Jets finding a number of good players who can help the team. I think he was very smart to hang onto all 12 picks. Supposedly he did try to trade up for Lee, but may have been smart enough not to overpay or may have gotten lucky.

If he had, I probably would have shot him
Who's to say that that late round player is "highly unlikely" to make the team? Look at all the late round picks who are starter or key players for Seattle. Look at Tom Brady.

That said, in the two scenarios you cited, I would gladly trade Saunders to exchange Amaro for ASJ or to exchange McDougle for SJB.

This was a thread about draft picks and here you are giving the same cromartie argument I have seen from you in other threads.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Big Blocker has football knowledge and can put together a logical post. His main issue on this board seems to be that once he says something, no matter how incorrect, he will throw all logic out the window and defend it to his grave.

Even bigger problem... if you disagree, he dismisses anything you say and will only respond with, in so many words: "something must be wrong with you because you don't agree with me, therefore I don't have to defend my stance."

Lol my favorite experience with him is when he refused to read a post of mine because it was "homeristic crap." I'm about as far from a homer as you can get without being a darksider, so apparently making accurate predictions makes you a homer.

He has a very hard time accepting that his opinion is not fact, and that someone else's opinion isn't voided because it doesn't coincide with his.

Before I finish reading through this thread, have to say I agree it really sucks to be the Lions coronating Calvin Johnson to starting WR every year. Give me a good old fashioned competition between a 5'4" rookie gadget player, a busted 2nd rounder that doesn't like to catch or get open and a few guys off the street, all day every day.
