But Stuckey was non-horrible which may be good enough to drop an extra CB spot on the roster for another receiver, or someone like Cummings or Brown.

Overall, I was amazed at the crispness of the second teamers. They were disciplined and played well as a team. The ebst example is how well EVERYONE covered screens - and ran screens - because those plays require everyone to be on the same page. (Probably why they ran so many)

I thought Carroll had the most up and down day. Everything posters have been saying is true: he does look like a penalty waiting to happen, he did make some nice plays, he is FAST and may be able to do some damage on specials. Brackins asked out after dropping a pass on like his third offensive play - if that doesn't get him cut, nothing will. Ainge is HUGE and he has a quick release and a silky smooth ball with some velocity on it, but he is a lead foot statue back there. If we can sneak him onto the PS I will jizz for joy. And yes, that Ratty TD was a thing of beauty. He showed poise, patience, ball skills, awareness, balance, athleticism, brains and technique. It was great. And that Henry catch on the play before was magnificent, too. Henry has flashed so much that I fear we won't be able to hide him on the PS.

Ugh... what a terrible thing to say.

I still have nightmares about Barlow.

Chatman is going to be a serious load to bring down. Frankly, I'd much prefer to see Leon and Chatman split carries this season. I'm ready to get some value from TJ.

Mike T. also mentioned Dearth was 'definitlely staying'. This was after Buttle made some remark about the dearth of talent on the team.

True. Stuckey didn't look THAT bad back there. However, I like Cummings and Brown. I would like to roll with these guys into Week 1 to rotate them amongst the line and the LB'ers and keep some people fresh (let's hope we keep at least Brown).

That's pretty much my assessment on Carroll as well.

A few more of my assessments...

I'm almost sure Brackins is getting cut after this game as well as Raymond who dropped a pass down the field which would've given [I want to say Clemens?...can't remember who was in for that drive] a TD on offense. I wasn't really impressed with his catch in the endzone later in the game. It was more of a great play from Ratliff.

Gholston looked pretty shitty and got lost a lot out there among 2nd and 3rd stringers. He whiffed a few tackles, and I noticed he failed his coverage assignments a couple of times (one in particular was of him whom I have to assume was supposed to cover the flat, and mid-way back-peddling, he decides to rush the QB). QB saw it before Gholston got to him and flung it out to the flat and they got their 1st down.

Trust me, the "waiting" on those PI penalties ended most definitively years ago. Also, one thing I don't think other Packers fans have mentioned yet is the character issues. His job was already in trouble due to poor play with the Pack, but what iced it for him there, I just remembered, was that he literally punched his fellow rookie CB (and main competition for 3rd spot) Joey Thomas from behind during a practice. Not playfully, he slugged him. The Packers just cut him the next morning, period. It was middle of season and he played on Sunday, then was cut on Wednesday (or whatever day it was).

As I wrote before I was willing to give him benefit of doubt, but if his playing ability hasn't changed much as you indicate, then why bother, just get over with what probably was going to happen anyway and cut him.

nice report, however what was this dumb comment for? Why is a head coach a Jackass for caring about one of his players going down with what (in you words) "appeared to be a significant injury"? Seems like a classy move actually.

And Buttle is a dufus but for some reason I dont mind him announcing.

You misunderstood me. I probably could have worded that part better.

The dumb comment was directed at him prolonging the game after that happened by calling time outs. One would think after that injury happened and there was only 4 minutes left he'd want to end the game ASAP. I dunno.

Hey Guys: I am telling you Ahmad Carroll will break your heart at CB. His favorite play is pass interference and he cost us games in GB. He is a QB's godsend; he keep drives alive. Cut him unless he can do something else significant to contribute. About as bad as Mandarich.

TEs, give Bubba a chance. Sentimental but damn he has been tough inside the red zone in the past. If he stinks after week 4, cut him.

WRs look real good. Kicking game still sucks, no excuse for out of bounds.

Running game may pick-up with Favre in there.

Gholstein??????? He SHOULD be a monster.

Maybe that's why Vernon Gholstein isn't playing like a man...he never had his bar mitzvah.
