A lot of the problem has been the Lions being too bad and the Cowboys being too good--at least half the problem is fixed.

With the night games it's a matter of the NFL guessing poorly at who will be good by Thanksgiving. In our case they rematched a playoff game, took their best shot.

8pm on the East Coast equals 5pm PST over here, so it fits quite nicely with the Thanksgiving fucking meal. Are monkeys scheduling these things? Wouldn't Black Friday be a better day for NFL games when all the girls are out shopping? FFS.

I'm with ya, get the kids ready for bed, Kiss the fiancee good night, and sit on my ass watching football with no distractions. 8:20 is perfect.

4:15 would be the best case scenario. Meal at 2 or 3 pm, get some air and crack a beer at 4:00 pm, come back at 4:15 to see the kick off and nibble on leftovers all game long. 7:30 pm go out and watch a movie with the family

4:15pm. I have work at 8:00pm. I will be able to watch most of the game though (I work the door at a bar).

If the game must be on Thanksgiving, 8:20 is the best time for me because my family does not do football AT ALL during the day.

The 8:20PM start is fine with me. It gives me something more to look forward to all day, between waiting for Thanksgiving dinner, then a nap, and then the Jets game :) .

I really wish it was earlier...... I usually pop a top while prepping/cooking food when the 1st game starts...and keep going. Thanksgiving tradition

Looks like espresso and sambuca with a slice of mom's apple pie @ 8:30 this year. :jets:

Where is the none of the above option????? A home on Thanksgiving just plain sucks. What was Woody thinking? This has to the least watched national TV game of the year. NFL Network, Thanksgiving night - most people don't even get the NFL Network and those that do will either be footballed out or driving home or asleep or cleaning up by then.

Throw in another rainy night game for us season ticket holders and it makes it 10x worse. If it is a rainy night, that stadium is going to be empty - and I mean empty. Many season ticket holders are not going because of the holiday. Some of those tickets are being eaten. Others are going to fans who won't brave the weather or the traffic or any kind of hassle. Throw in a rainy night and many fans will stay home, greatly negating home field advantage.

This game should be played on Sunday at 1 pm. This is a travesty. I am going, but very reluctantly.

Jet games are about tailgating and spending the day at the stadium, not about running out of my house with a full stomach, leaving most of my family behind, not having the tailgate experience, battling horrendous traffic to get to a game on the worst traffic night of the year in the biggest city in the US, and after all that to sit for 3 hours watching another damn night game at home in the rain.

And those of you who want the Jets to play next year on Christmas Day have no lives or family, do not have season tickets, and do not live in the NYC area.

The Thanksgiving night game should have two mediocre teams from small markets like it always does.

Wow.....some of you guys eat early......maybe it's because im spanish and we start everything late lol but I ussually start eating around 8 30......for me a 12:30 game would be best, women are cooking and I can just sit back relax and enjoy the game (or have a heart attack with the kind of games we have been in the last few weeks)

Would have been happier with a game at 4. Now I have to miss my pre-black-friday-shopping power nap and head straight out after the game... and maybe leave at halftime to go stand in line and watch it the rest on my droid.

4:15 would be perfect. Early enough to eat and spend time with the family, yet late enough to escape with nobody noticing and watch the game. 8:30 is too late. Far too much booze consumed (to deal with the family) at that point.

For me my thanksgiving usually starts early so I'd rather get it over with as soon as possible, the later the game the easier that the food coma would take over to interfere with game
