Does anyone have a quick way to find that thread from last year? I can't remember what I predicted and I want to see if I was close.

Use the search feature on the forums main page, it should have around the same title as this thread.

12-4 with losses to Denver, @NE, @Vikings and in week 17 @Miami since we'll have already clinched the division/1st round bye and will be resting more than a few key banged up starters.

Ofcourse they got lucky. I never said it but Every team wins with luck here and there. You gonna say the home opener when that idiot hit Geno out of bounds wasn`t lucky? The Jets lost that game if that idiot wasn`t an idiot. I didn`t watch too many of the games but the few I did watch the Jets were quite lucky. You can`t beat luck as they say. I think the Atlanta game the Jets got lucky too.

By that logic every win is luck.

could be but I think when a team wins by 17+, it pretty much ain`t luck. It`s also not a logical thought. I don`t recall how many games the Jets won last season by bad calls, stupid plays, or luck, but 5-11 wasn`t that far off from 8-8 if you take away the 2 wins they were lucky to get imo (TB & ATL). I`m pretty sure the Broncos and Seahawks got some lucky wins too. Over the last 40+ years, the Jets just haven`t had much luck to be honest, no?

No problem. I had the same hopeful prediction last season when I said 5-11. But the Jets sorta ruined that. Now they have a draft pick at 8-8 when they could`ve had a better draft pick if they just sucked like everyone thought they should have. :) OK, Mr. Poopy Pants without Underwear.........

Haha. No need to stand on formality here so please feel free to dispense with the "Mr." and just call me Poop or Stinky Pants. BTW, what is your W/L prediction for this year?

It wouldn't have come down to Geno getting pushed out of bounds if Rex didn't make a boneheaded defensive call earlier in the game. Luckily DeMario Davis made the game saving tackle.

If the refs didn't throw a flag on that ticky tack play by Hill in the 2nd NE game. It wouldn't have come down to a controversial call. Or even in the first NE game, if Gates makes the TD catch we probably win that game.

What was "lucky" about the Falcons win?

Yeah...that's real close. Pretty damn good for someone who admits that they "didn`t watch too many of the (Jets) games".

Did you factor your groundbreaking "luck" theory in this year's prediction or are you allowing yourself a 4 game spread again?

This is so hard to predict as we're not even into TC yet let alone the draft. We have no idea if Geno has progressed or Vick can still play at a high level..

    Here are my best guesses:

    Week 1: vs Oakland - W
    Week 2: @ Green Bay - L
Week 3: vs Chicago - W (ST's had better play well or this could change thanks to DH)
    Week 4: vs Detroit - L
    Week 5: @ San Diego - L
    Week 6: vs Denver - L
    Week 7: @ New England - L
    Week 8: vs Buffalo - W
    Week 9: @ Kansas City - L
    Week 10: vs Pittsburgh - L
    Week 11: BYE
    Week 12: @ Buffalo - W
    Week 13: vs Miami - W
    Week 14: @ Minnesota - W
    Week 15: @Tennessee - L
Week 16: vs New England - L/W (really hard to call at this time)
    Week 17: @Miami - L

That makes my guess 6-10. Things might change depending how well we draft and just how far Geno has progressed. This schedule has no creampuffs except MAYBE Buffalo.

I don`t have to "watch" the games on tv because I see all the crap and hear all the crap on the news/sports stations. My prediction, which was before knowing who the starting QB was, was 5-11. If that douche from TB didn`t be an idiot, the Jets record would`ve been 7-9. Then getting some luck vs ATL, when they almost came back at the end(don`t recall what the final plays were but it was close and I think maybe there was some sort of call that went the Jets way), then they would`ve been 6-10, which IS pretty close to 5-11, no? I still listen and watch when I can but I certainly don`t revolve my life on Sundays around the Jets anymore. So based on that, and I`m certain there were other games where the Jets got some luck, my prediction wasn`t far off. It`s just a prediction BEFORE the draft has taken place for fucks sake. Even after last seasons pre-season games, I stuck with 5-11. Just like I`ll do again this year, especially if the draft sucks. Hey, if you were happy with the 8-8 record, well then, be as happy as you are. I`ll NEVER be happy with a mediocre record regardless of how good any player might have played. I`ve said for YEARS now, I want complete domination from this franchise, and yet NOTHING. Thats why I gave up my season tickets and just don`t care to be the fanatical fan I once was. Let the young kids have at it now. At this point, I couldn`t give a shit really if they won it all, which I know they won`t for at least the next 5 - 10 years(maybe much longer). So I suppose you can enjoy the losing Jets the way I have for the last 30 years. By then, it will be approaching 75 years since the Namath Jets SBIII victory. Keep your head up when cheering for this franchise. It`s costing people a shitload of money to do it now, and unlike when I had tickets. It was a cheap Sunday NFL day out when I was going. Enjoy what you have. To me, it simply ain`t worth it.
