I think the schedule isnt as daunting as some people make it out to be. The travel is tough for sure. But the Rams, Chargers and Colts could all be road victories (I'm chalking up Chiefs and Seahawks as loses). With that said, I think are offense is going to be terrible again. I love Sam, but the skill positions are bottom 5 in the league in my opinion. Plus who really knows what we have in GVR and Fant - or even Bechton for that matter. Bills 10-6 Pats 8-8 Jets 7-9 Find 6-10
I like your optimism. I wish I shared it. I do think the Jets have a shot at 9-7 if the West Coast trips don't undo them, if they don't suffer any major injuries and Sam starts and plays all 16 games. I see them anywhere from 7-9 to 9-7. Like MaximusD, in order for us to win 9 games our OL will have to gel early and Mims, Herndon, Perriman, Bell and maybe Doctson will all have to be good contributors. I do think the Pats will come back towards the pack, but Stidham could surprise. Belicheat is still the Ring Master until he is dethroned. If Stidham can play at a fairly high level, I see the Pats at 8-8 at least, if not 10-6. I think the Bills will probably have the best record at 10-6, maybe 11-5. The Porpoises won a heck of a lot more games last year than I thought they would last year. Their HC is the real deal, and he had them playing well. Still, they have much worse talent than we do. I think their OL is likely to get several QBs injured, especially if Jackson starts. I think they'll probably go anywhere from 5-11 to 8-8 if the new talent blends and plays well.
Ahh, there’s that unbridled optimism @Brook! I can see the Jets winning anywhere from 7-10 games. The NFC West is brutal, I don’t know if the Jets can win one game against that division, but like they say, “Any Given Sunday”.
Bills are the best team in AFC East and picked up good FA and drafted well. Bills 11-5 Patriots 9-7 Jets 8-8 Dolphins 7-9
Yup. Belichick is definitely the best in the game and McDermott is proving to be a good HC these past 3 years. Both he and Bills GM Brandon Beane seem to know what they are doing. Flores had a pretty good season with the Fins. Many expected that team to win 1 or 2 games at most and they won 5. Considering the talent they had it was impressive to go 5-11. I do think Joe Douglas will do for us what Beane has done for the Bills and build a strong roster. He just needs to be able to find his "McDermott" or "Flores". I am rooting for Gase to do well since I am a Jets fan but like many I don't see him as the answer. He isn't a players coach and the players will tune him out quickly if the Jets don't win soon.
The NFC West is the best division in football. We play the Super Bowl Champs. A Denver team that improved tremendously on the offensive side of the ball and a Chargers team that is way better than than record indicated last year. I think we will be better than last year, but the record might not show it.
With Brady out of the division the AFC East is probably the weakest division in the AFC right now. I can actually see a scenario where 7 & 9 wins the division. The Bills are very good. Allen is a boom and bust QB who could lose more close games than he wins. 8 and 8 may be the ceiling for any AFC east team next year.
